^ couldnt have put it better myself.... i mean just a few months ago niggas was saying san diego rap is OVER! now the most recognizable indy label in cali right now is tryna fuck with us and niggas kinda goin ehhhhh......its that attitude that keeps us stagnant..to me j-diggs just offered us an olive branch to come fuck with them.....think about that...this could open up a whole new arena for san diego music. you gon be part of opening the doors in cali for us SD people.

id say to any artist be yourself like smigg said...i really doubt j-diggs is gonna be at a table listening to your music like wheres the sesame street sample?

thizz as a label has more legs than some labels....if anything someone will download your shit and be up on you. i know people who collect thizz releases.

LOL..
I know the word "movement" is hella over used, but Thizz is a real movement.. Its ok to use that word wit Thizz.. Cuz niggas do really collect they shit..
Niggas in the bay and sac would really fucc wit SD music, but they just don't know anybody but Slick and us.. Since most artist don't even leave dago, this is a way for niggas music to kinda get out of the box..

i think everyone looks at mistah fab as what thizz's whole shit is.

the roster is so different when you break down whos in it. damn near everyones on they own shit.

thizz has not seemed 'family oriented' since dre was gone. i think its more of a label now, than it was in mac dre's starting stages of thizz ent.

that might be where some people get the idea, too.
dre seemed like the type where he wanted to put on vallejo personally and now thizz has gotten bigger than that

i think if mac dre woulda had control, there would have been more creative control within the group. thats not to say thats a good or bad thing he just seemed like that type.

and now that no one can feel dres shoes i think the style for thizz is more or less like 'hood across the map' style...not like party shit dre did like california living or thizz dance..that was his style

i see diggs's vision tho, i mean thats what rap or die was tryna do. create a group that anyone pushing the line could be part of.

i look at thizz ent more like the myspace of indy rap...theres hundreds of people who rep tha shit officially..like hus was down with thizz but was in mob figaz....if someone was part, not to say that you would all the sudden be cool with everyone in thizz but it would give you more of a reason to network out of town.

like look at thizz's dvd 'block report'...to me that kinda explains thizz's goal as a label

how hard is it really to get one unheard dope song of quality from each diego artist making noise? imo thats not hard at all if your the right individual...
You said STARTING with a compilation...if this is just a mix of new songs from sd rappers with a buzz its not hard but what would make that different than any other sd mixtape that has been put out? what makes this the san diego thizz divisioin when you just grabbing san diego artists that have been already around and labeling them as thizz san diego...

The last album I listened to of Mac Dre was " What's really goin on" when I seen those albums like Thizzle Washington...I couldnt grasp the concept and immediatly stereotyped all rappers associated with him, thizz as the same as hyphy even though i know it is somewhat different. I can't get into going dumb...of course Im older.I can understand where you was coming from gas when you talked about actually being in the bay to soak up the atmosphere to really grasp it, I think where we are at life or our experiences when we listen to music influences in some way how we hear the music. Im just being open and honest..ya can not blame people for assuming Thizz is one thing..cause not everyone is up on it and we can only make a decision by what he have seen or heard. If you dont like a certain style or genre there really is no reason to keep checkin unless someone puts you up on something furthest from your expectations...I had a whole lot to say but if Thizz is any kind of rap then Im a lil more open, however if thizz can be anything then how can thizz be a movement, When I think of thizz I think of lil kids poppin E pills gettin retarded..going super dummy..bright clothes...dressin purposly like a nerd or kid

wow...even 50cals point went over your head lol

no one said live there...

if you wanna go to a college what do you do, you visit the college first. or atleast you read up on the shit so you get an understanding of what they represent and what their goal is.

its not like this is the mcdonalds skate team

orrr issss it....
all i was sayin was as a southern cali person born and raised i UNDERSTOOD THIZZ MORE, when i left my city and started kicking it in the bay/vallejo more.

i know the stereotype thizz has down here, and thats what im speaking on. aint no one sayin you gotta live in vallejo to be sd thizz

but if sd thizz is just gonna be sd with no knowledge of thizz ent then whats the point of the thizz attached to it? that wouldnt even work....

mabybe im confused, is this a compilation or a chapter of thizz? i mean is it gonna be like 10 niggas that dont give a fuck about thizz as a group or a movement and just tryna get put on? if so shit theres more than enough rappers ...

my question was simple WHY WOULD ONE NEED TO LIVE AND OR VISIT THE BAY AREA in order to sign or do biz with a bay area label? if anything like college your going to check out the ppl that make that college meaning the teachers programs the history of the college not the building lol (being sarcastik) im sure when busta rhymes or rakim went to aftermath they wasnt saying damn i need to get a grasp on LA life before i can sign with a LA label the signed with DRE cause of his prestige history not cause he was from LA...

since when were there deals on the table? i thought we were talking about compilations...and repping thizz..if i wanna rep hip hop maybe i should go to the south bronx...maybe i should learn about where hip hop originated and the early days of hip hop before i do that..

coop when i went to academy of art, i went to check out the building. i went to check out how updated the computers they use are, i went to check out what they offer as a college. at no point did i care about the rich people who ride in helicopters that own the school.

aftermath is a major label ran by dr. dre, a veteran musician himself, much ike rakim and busta rhymes. thizz is not a major label ran by a veteran thats been rhyming and producing since 1981 thats signing likeminded veterans. yall are asking for kicked down songs. being part of a rag tag group of indy rappers....thats a little different than dr. dre sitting in his 7 million dollar home talking to rakim about making an album.

rakim and busta rhymes had been to la hella times before then, and even then, you do go to the area you work in. too short went to ATL for that exact reason.

you made a point? then definitely it has

coop if you dont understand why a person would visit the place a movement originated in, theres no reason explaining it to you

looks like siccness came to sd...?

hmmm...
i wonder why......

womp womp womp woooommmmmp
siccness came to san diego? cause a person living in san diego bought it lol...
and im sure every gang banger in AMERICA not just SAN DIEGO repping a ca. set took a trip to LA to see where the roots started from in order to start gang banging womp womp...

i BEEN SEEN your point but like i said i dont get it and i guess im to old to slow and dumb to understand

coop no offense but did you finish high school?

sd -> the bay = 612 miles

sd -> LA = 140 miles

why would sd have to go to its neighboring city to know whats going on? you took this to some other shit...if youre interested in a movement learn about the source. end of convo

and in that case why bother? is there money in it?

'southern californians with them big ole glasses...'-cricet

The difference between the other sd comps and a Thizz SD comp is that, Thizz has a bigger outlet, alotta sd comps don't make it past oceanside.. And I'm guess Thizz will sign a couple people, or sumbody, or do a joint venture or sumthin like they did wit the homies Beeda Weeda & J-Stalin, they got labels.. But they did projects wit Thizz..

@ 50 Cal, if u haven't heard a Mac Dre album since like his first one, how would u even know how to characterize him as?? From a album cover?
When u think of Thizz the label u think of lil kids poppin E??

wow smh here i have an opinion about something just like everybody else and im getting asked did i finish high school lmfao how did i take offense from asking why would one need to know about a certain area/or movement to sign or to do biz wit a label.

i will just continue to be the dumb high school graduate on siccness.net lol

gas you took my shit totally out of context but their is no use explaining cause the art school college grad knows everything about everything lol...

this debate could go on forever cause kats read differently than they hear...

the art school college grad knows everything about everything lol...
everything except homosexuality and incestual relationships..and crack smoking..ill agree with that.

thizz aint like a regular label to me. maybe im wrong.

like if you sign to wu tang, you dont just sign to wu tang records.

i would gather that you are PART of wu.
i see things that are movements..as something you kinda have to learn about to be a part of, to further the movement at hand.

and if alot of people in sd think like 50cal...well..whos gonna be repping thizz...prolly the wrong mutha fuckas

and no disrespect against coop bcuz i respect what hes done for dago and cali as a whole but thas just my opinion..that san diego needs its own thing

and a sd compilaton by a bay area label is a good idea but a bay area movement being pushed by san diego is where it gets shady
