>And you failed to mention this earlier in the debate...why?
What debate? I hold a belief that Canadian's are lazy and you come out of the wood works like the Last of the Mohicans defending your Dad's promised land. You can't say "I work x hours a week so I am not lazy". Working is just a factor of it. Plus yes, they don't work nearly as hard as American's do. That makes me able to say that they are lazy.
Let me explain how this concept goes.
Let's say I am 6 foot 2 inches. I can say I believe someone who is 5 foot 9 is short. Yes, to me they are short. Did I say "I believe everyone in the world believes you are short". No. I said I believe he is short. I have every right to say that and it is a true statement. Compared to me, that person is short.
Compared to me (the average overworked American), Canadians are lazy.
There is nothing invalid about that statement. It is just a matter of you trying to justify it by a means of comparing hours worked by your sister's boyfriend, who has nothing to do with anything.
>Just because YOU dont see it full, doesnt mean it never is.
Nice useless statistical fall back. I dont have to monitor the gym 24/7 to make a valid statement. I went to the gym 6 days out of the 7. It is never full. My cousin goes every day and has been to mine in the US, and says his is no where near as packed as my gym. Did you skip the part where I lived there for 2 years? I'm telling you, people are not as active out there. It is snowing HALF the year. People don't even go out side.
Who cares if I haven't seen it full, that is a ridiculous philosophical argument. Have you ever seen a a samurai sitting your car? No. Well, just because you haven't seen the samurai in your car, it does not mean that he never is. So until you put a 24/7 camera system in you car, we will just determine your statement as invalid and assume there is a chance that a samurai is in your car from time to time.
>Majority? So, what....roughly 10 million? 20 million? 100 million? I had no >idea you had seen "a majority" of Canadian people.
I don't need a national consensus. How about this.
I know about 50 Canadian people (in reality I know more).
Out of those 50. 40 are considered lazy by American standards.
>Again with this majority nonsense. Give me a rough estimate, please.
About 80%
>What else are you going to tell me, that a majority of african americans are >criminals? That a majority of women hate men? A majority of asians are >smart?
You are bringing up race when I am talking about a country. 2 totally different categories.
>This is a flat out lie, because my father doesn't live near downtown, and I >have been to many bistros and bars that were PACKED....even on >weeknights! Can you imagine?
Weeknights, as in close the door its 11pm now.
Try getting food outside after that. Good luck.
You know a small handful of people in BC and are trying to counter my opinion with their lifestyle. You know Vancouver is pretty much the most modern major city in Canada? The world just spent their Winter Olympics over there. People from the BC try to disassociate themselves as much as they can from the rest of Canada. Same with people from Montreal. They are want to be their own gig. Go look at middle and east coast Canada, or even up north more. You will see a HUGE difference. Just wait till you meet someone from somewhere like Newfoundland...
