^^^how is the recording on it like on the playback? my boy recently bought a different type of usb sound card i think made by lexicon and when he played back the voices, it sounded kind of fucked up. how is it on the fast track that you have? and is the fast track easy to hook up?

My audio sounds good when played back. I don't know if it the interface he has, though I heard the Lexicons were pretty good, but it could either be that specific interface or something going on with the DAW or computer itself.

And yes, its simple to hook up and install. Just connect the USB cable and install the drivers.

^^^right on kavie, much appreciated. my boy actually figured out why it wasn't working. he said something about you have to adjust the buffer depending on what program you use which i guess is in the setup part of whatever program you use. but he said it has a real clear sound to it. yea i might just roll with either one because it sounds like they both are good sound cards. thanks again.

I have the Fast Track Pro. The Fast Track Ultra is a nice one, but it should be enough for you; two inputs, four outputs, and MIDI I/O is the basics of what you'd need. If you need more than one or two inputs then you can go with the Ultra (though running your devices through a mixer, if you already have one or can find one, can work just fine). I'm not sure about the DSP feature on the Ultra, but it might be something someone else can enlighten you (and me) on.
