A-wax you hella funny. All the sudden you you are worried about what is illegal. Common now, you cant be serious. What site are people dL your cd. I have never seen it out on any site. I guess Mirc maybe? Anyone know why all the fuss. Kazza sure doesnt have your cd? Why you all worried. Spend time hustling like JT insted of wasting time on something you have no control over. You don have control to push units yourself. Just my 2 cents!
those are now my 2 cents on the matter as well, honestly, it's not effecting u if anything it would help spread your name!

I understand why WAX doesnt like downloading cause his album only scanned a few while a lot of people have been saying they love it which means people are bootlegging it BUT an artist like A-WAX needs to just get his name and songs out there any way he can which means for free. then once he is known he can start to worry about it. but right now, he needs the downloaders.

I SHOULD CHALK IT AS A LOSS?SAY MY ALBUM GET DOWNLOADED 30,000 TIMES....& ONLY SELL 7,000 COPIES.I SHOULD EMBACE THIS?
You gotta look at it like this WAX

Say 30,000 people DLed your album and 7,000 bought it was the right number.

If no one was able to DL your album then you might have only sold 4,000. What about people like me who have no way of hearin you except downloading off the net? There are people like me all over the world that DL shit they don't know of and then buy it if they like it.

Of course you still have the 27,000 people who DLed your album but 90& of those fucks probably would have never bought it anyway OR they probably would have never even heard of you. So maybe they will just go buy the next one.

Damn i aint trying to diss wax and his music, but i guess he just doesnt understand the true deal with the net. What jay deuce said is exactly true. Im all for the underground, everything in my damn life is underground, but without the internet (siccness specifically) i wouldnt even know about wax. I dont pick up Cd's at music stores of artists Ive never heard of.
Besides that, I never seen Awax CD on the net for download. And im a HUGE irc user... my shit is in there all day even when im not at the computer... it definitely aint on kazaa either. Where the hell did 30,000 people become more computer literate than a lot of us here? Not a chance

the only reason I bought his album is I listened to several songs on the internet before hand. His attitude towards the issue makes me question whether I would want to buy his next album. i liked his album (and not just cause he posts on here) but the fact that he seemingly only gives a fuck about the paper turns me off.

The fact that the music industry is still a multi-billion dollar-a-year business means that there is a sizable profit margin for these companies. Kev Ski is right, they will spend less but it's only to maintain that same profit margin, not because they are taking actual losses. They will spend less so they can still make the same amount of money. When the balance is always in your favor and the amount of your paycheck doesn't change, how can you can't cry about "losing" anything?

The only requirement to keep the music industry alive is that consumers have to keep buying music. You can't drive a car that doesn't have any gas in it. Most people understand that and MOST people have no problem buying music they like. Like I said before, yes some people will take advantage but that's not the majority.

Like it or not, MP3's are here to stay and there's NOTHING anyone can do about it. The RIAA trying to threaten and sue everyone is really just an effort to prevent change and control the balance. In the end they'll fail because this is something that's been happening, will continue to happen, and can not be stopped.

People who embrace change are usually the first to benefit and profit from it. People who resist change always wind up conceding in the end because they have no other option. And they usually waste a lot of time & money before getting to that point.

People USED TO be willing to take chances on buying albums they haven't heard but that was before the market got flooded with GARBAGE, the ridiculous amounts of recycled material, and before they had any alternatives. People taking a chance on your music was a PRIVILEDGE and some people are probably still willing to do it. Regardless, it was NEVER something that fans owe artists!

Do people appreciate good mixes? I think most do and most are willing to buy albums they feel are worth their hard-earned cash. Hopefully they EXPECT quality work in exchange for it.

Look man, you can fight the shit all you want but things have changed, period. You can sit here pissing your pants and being all upset over it, or you can find a way to use it to your advantage. People are tired of being ripped off on cd's that they can't return for a refund if they think the music is some bullshit. Consumers have found a way around that. Naturally some will take advantage of that but tons of people just use MP3's as a way to protect themselves from getting suckered over & over again.

The music industry isn't going down the drain, it's simply changing. The way people communicate is changing therefore the way people do business is changing. There are still millions and millions of people who buy music and the industry is still a mutli-billion dollar-a-year business. There's two choices. You can either find a way to change with it or start getting your resume ready. I'm sure McDonald's is always hiring.
thats your 2 choices chump-i got hustle without tha rap

You cant just complain your whole life. Or maybe you can. I dunno.
Either way, take the advice put on these boards by many smart cats, including JT... embrace the change... fuck what you THOUGHT you knew... and DO something about it.

I spend at least $70 bucks or so a MONTH on bay area rap. But I aint gonna lie, I also multiple thousands of MP3's, and my collection aint going anywhere.... ever. If a motherfucker puts out a weak CD, best believe your ass im going to download it.

Once again, Get with the times people.

The mystery goes on:

Sick Wid It: A well respected member of the board in terms of knowledge, the way he carries himself and the fact that all the known artists vouch he's someone big

Now I find out he's a Senior Executive, Producer, Song-Writer and Musician.

I know it's none of my business, but damn this mystery has been plaging me for YEEEAAAARRRRSSS.

Did we ever find out who "SICK WID IT" is ? I've been away for a while, but always wondered....
