^Wax, your music can't even be found on Kazaa. Your albums are only on mIRC. And they're only going aftre people that use Kazaa, Morpheus and those sort of programs.
Plus they're basically interested in artists like Britney Spears, Dr.Dre. Madonna etc. They're not really wasting time going after people who share independent artists music.
This is bullshit though, it won't work. Downloading will never stop, fuck what anyone says. mIRC for example has tens of thousands of servers all across the world, Maybe even hundreds of thousands. RIAA can't do shit to any of thgese that are outside the states. It's a fucking joke, they're tryin to scare young kids from downloading.

i think somebody in the RIAA is gonna wise up and see the business oppertunity that file sharing has....instead of shutting it down by punishing downloaders (potential customers), they should just monopolize the file sharing network and hire a bunch of cats on the internet to adminster it and police its content....

It puts a dent in the artists that are continuing to download mainstream music from kazaa. Either way your album will be leaked eventually. It will be ripped no matter what. Thats just how it goes. Somebody will get there hands on it and rip it and send it to a ripping group. Just the way it is. Your true loyal fans will buy it no matter what. So use it as a promotion tool.

It all depeneds on who has copys of your new cd. If you really dont want it to get ripped before the release date then dont hand them out. When I watch movie comercials and if it appeals to me I go to see it in theather. But if running low on money ill dl it and watch it later in theather to get the full experience. But again if you download movies from kazaa please slap your self in the face. For music to be the same artists need to throw out samplers. Like the outkast. Im really feeling the sampler and I WILL DOWNLOAD IT, since it will be ripped before the realease date. And when it comes out I WILL BUY IT. Since Im sure it will knock and from what I heard from the sampler, its sick. About your quality thing. If you rip the cd right then it should rip good. Yes there is going to be a little quality loss. But again if the fan is feeling you, they will buy your album and support you.

Who am I to say it cant be stopped? The facts are in front of you bra. Has it slowed down kazaa? Yes. Who uses kazaa? 56k people or people new to the file sharing scene. Im just saying there are programs that have been running for a long ass time. The time that Napster started that are still alive right now and are getting bigger and bigger.
