its not just retail music thats hurting mayne......the music industry as a WHOLE is......rap.....country.......rock and roll and randb......

you dont think that underground artist are hurting more then ever? please

Fuck no, if it wasn't for the internet(forums, myspace etc) most of these underground artist wouldn't be known outside of their hood) Immortal technique, tech n9ne,T-Rock,Z-Ro etc are all eating good off of the independent/underground grind. And artist like C-Mob,K-Rino,King Gordy etc names are steadily growing as a direct result of the Internet.

Now if someone downloads any of the above mentioned artist albums, it doesn't really hurt them. Because if these people had never heard of them they wouldn't buy their shit anyway. But If someone else hears their shit being played in Hawii somewhere thats more promotion and maybe they'll buy their next project. The problem is, radio should also give everybody a fair chance and equal opportunity.

I've always had the same mindstate since tech n9nes fti movement. I download every album before I buy it. If I like most of it Ill buy a niggaz cd, if not Ill throw that bitch in the recycle bin. they may lose a potential customer, but no loss of profit. Because if I bought it first and didn't like it, it would get returned anyway.

" yall niggaz sitting back, like fuck it we cant do nuthin about it so why bother" you can still speak on this foul ass game

Ne4 was very solid beat wise and lyrically. Demonz n my sleep was weak, but after a few spins i felt it and im not even a huge latin rap fan, but i cant take anything away from those 2 albums. But on the topic at hand, its been this way with radio and labels and it will never change. I support the indies and the few major artist that havent sold there souls to go platinum

This is an oversimplification that too many are quick to believe in

Most independent artists suck. For the simple reason that they are trying to copy the mainstream. Out of the ones that don't, a great many suck too, just because they lack the talent

It is a lot more accurate to say that "there is still good music in the independent scene, while there is very little of it (close ot zero) in the mainstream''

Question remains, of course, why it was all good, mainstream and independent back in the days, but this is a long post on its own which I will not type right now

Why people even care about shit like this is beyond me.
LMAO

Few niggas on here are acting like they Clive Davis, L.A. Reid or some major label executives. The way I look at it if you not feeling a artist just say your not for whatever reason then keep it moving mayne. No need for 10 posts of talking bout how rap is dead and etc then trying to disect shit and trying to act all executive P and shit remember your a consumer(fan) not Corporate(boss, COORDINATORs).
