Portland has to shed some players and could start now instead of waiting until this offseason. The Trail Blazers have 15 players on their roster, three players overseas who are scheduled to join the team next season and four draft picks. Somebody's got to go.
They could also use thsoe as leverage to pick up a veteran...3 draft picks can go a LOOOOONG way in the NBA.

ITS ON ESPN.COM NOW

The Nets are discussing a complicated three-team scenario with the Mavericks and Blazers in which Jason Kidd would go to Dallas, league sources said.

In return, the Nets would get back young players (Jarrett Jack and Travis Outlaw), expiring contracts (Devean George, DeSagana Diop), Jerry Stackhouse, draft picks and cash. More players, including other Nets, would be involved

^yeah, I like the idea of harris but we would be giving up too much........ Channing Frye, Jarret Jack, and Travis Outlaw for 1 player in harris, who is injured.....

We would be destroying our "white unit" (or our 2nd unit for people who don't follow the blazers) who have probably won the same amount of games if not more, then our starters...

^ ya, our white squad is just as important.

like i stated again and again, i am NOT intrested in trading ANY of our young players, let alone 3 of our reserves that play well on the white squad.

We lose travis outlaw? hellllllllllllllllll nooooo! outlaw is FINALLY starting to make a name for himself, and hes clutch at times.

Jarret jack?? I like him, hes a good guy, and it really has to depend on the trade to give up on him.

channing frye? the new face on the blazer squad, and i think hes meshed well with our players. He aint a franchise player or ne thing like that but the pick n roll with him when LMA is out is just as effective. He is soft but he can still hit that J for a big dude. Plus he does well with what playing time he gets.

I'm pretty sure negotiations are in progress, but the majority of the rumors espn is putting out are coming straight out of New Jersey newspapers with homer writer's slapping together ideas that clearly favor the Nets.
