Roy doesn't dominate? Have you even been payin attention? My personal bias to the side, have you seen how he dictates the tempo of a game? Have you seen how he can break anybody down off the dribble? Have you seen how he can find the holes in defenses that are designed to take him out of the game whether it be a drive to the lane, elbow jumper, 3, or drivin and kickin to the open man. He does a little bit of everything, and everything that the team needs him to do to win. Without Roy, nobody even thinks twice about the Blazers right now. He's the first Blazer to get back to back player of the week awards since Clyde Drexler (a pretty dominant guy in his own right) 20 years ago. He's not the flashiest player on the planet, but you don't have to draw oohs and ahhs to be dominant. Tim Duncan is the least flashy player ever and is more about the team (much in the same way that Roy is) but I doubt anybody would say he's not a dominant player. The reason he doesn't get mentioned among dominant players right now is because its only his 2nd damn year in the league, and in a small market he's not gonna get as much press. He's making a name for himself now though, and he is slowly starting to be recognized.

Thats great and im glad you feel this way. However, Roy is STILL not a dominant player after saying all this. But thanks for your input.

Roy is good and his potential to BE a dominant player is THERE...but when you mumble the names of players like Jordan and Bird as dominant players...Roy is no where NEAR them....so cut the crap, please.

Once again, another Blazer fan saying Roy is or near dominance. Go figure.

If you are going to keep using Jordan as a measuring stick, then nobody is dominant. In terms of the NBA as it is today, Roy is damn near dominant if not dominant already. Does he dominate in the same way that Jordan, Bird, Magic, Isaiah and Wilt did? Of course not. He has his own dynamics that allow him to control the game in his own way. I think he's already better than Carmelo (in terms of his impact on a team, not stats) and sneaking up on guys like Wade and James. I'm not saying he is the MOST dominant, but to say he isn't a dominator at all, at least to me is not a fair assessment.

brandon roy is a beast!!!

just think how good they gonna be when oden comes bacc...blazers ain't nuttin' to fucc wit right now...never was a blazers fan, but i've been a roy fan since he was tearing shit up at UW...now, they gon be the only pro ball team after the sonics leave
I read on RealGM that the Hornets are considering moving to Seattle in 2012. I don't know when the Sonics are supposed to leave, but it doesn't look like you guys will be without pro ball for long. Then we can have a new I-5 rivalry.

I guess we'll have to settle for tired Denver legs. And after Denver our schedule looks like this:
Tue 25 vs Seattle
Fri 28 vs Minnesota
Sun 30 vs Philadelphia
Mon 31 @ Utah
Wed 02 @ Minnesota

Lookin at a potential 15 game W streak. lol

I forgot, he was also not hard to find on the outdoor courts at Green Lake Park in the summertime, even when he was starring at UW.

The man is simply a Seattle legend.

THats a point im trying to drive home. If Roy is dominant, than so is a 1/3 of the league. THat means the measuring stick for dominance is NOT very big...do you see what im getting at?

In terms of the NBA as it is today, Roy is damn near dominant if not dominant already.
I disagree.

Does he dominate in the same way that Jordan, Bird, Magic, Isaiah and Wilt did? Of course not.
Exactly. Bird, Magic, Jordan...THEY are the true measuring sticks OF dominance.

He has his own dynamics that allow him to control the game in his own way.
THat does NOT make him dominant. Nash is better than Roy as controlling the game, yet you fail to mention him.

I think he's already better than Carmelo (in terms of his impact on a team, not stats)
Funny, because Melo has already taken his team ot he playoffs and are in run to win the West. What has Roy done thus far in terms of that? YOu may say that Denver isnt as young as PO...true, but for a young guy like Melo to be able to take over a game like he does is sickening.

and sneaking up on guys like Wade and James.
Now youre just being a homer.

I'm not saying he is the MOST dominant, but to say he isn't a dominator at all, at least to me is not a fair assessment.
No, thats a PORTLAND TRAILBLAZER FAN assesment.

Look, im a fan of Roy's...i watched him play damn near EVERY game for UW. Ive seen him play on the courts around Seattle at places xpanther has mantioned...he is a good person and a true team player. But, by the measuring stick of dominance, he is NOT that YET. He DOES have the potential, though. Getting to the playoffs is a good start.

If YOU feel he dominant...good for you. The FUCK do i really care? It doesnt affect me in any way, I just thought I would show you how MOST people would measure DOMINANCE as far as the NBA goes. However, if you feel he is almost or already there, then it is what it is.

Its all opinions, man...straight up. Yet, the only people callin him dominant are 2 Blazers fan and a UW fanatic. GO figure.

I see what you are saying but rather than comparing him to players who were dominant in their past, I'm comparing him to players who are actually playing today.

fantastic.

Exactly. Bird, Magic, Jordan...THEY are the true measuring sticks OF dominance.
According to you. That does not make it so.

Fair enough, but why would I mention Nash?

Anthony came into a decent situation. And was the guy that put an already decent team over the top. Roy came into a horrible situation and damn near single handedly is turning the shit around. Portland wasn't even an afterthought last year. The only thing about last season anybody remembers about Portland was the excellent play of the rookie of the year. I don't know how many Blazer games you have seen this season, but Roy also takes games over but he does it by doing more than just scoring.

Now youre just being a homer.
I'll give you that "sneaking up on James" comment was a reach, but fuck it, I don't care, I was excited from the win streak. lol

No, thats a PORTLAND TRAILBLAZER FAN assesment.

Apparently. You took all that time and energy to dissect my post. If you didn't care you would have ignored it and moved on to whatever was "important"
