Yea I agree. Thought maybe he mixed it in afterwards. I go to mexican restaurants and they only have peppers and maybe onion in the rice. Do you know how to make it?
It's easy. Brown the rice with oil while it's still dry, throw some chicken broth in instead of water and tomato paste and some garlic powder, then simmer it for like 20-30 minutes. I just eye ball everything no measurements. It might take you a couple tries but that's the recipe to success right there

Yes, I think that's the idea at least. I want to make one in my crock pot this year.

You can also sear your steaks and then throw the cast iron pan in the oven to make em cook without losing a bunch of juices and shit.

I'm making a pot roast tonight. I've never seared one previously. Does it lock in more flavor or something?
It gives it a little more texture in stead of all just being fall apart soft you have some little crispy pieces
