Made Grilled pork Bahn Mi sandwiches tonight. They ended up damn good.

For cream sauces and things that call for mayo, I usually use sour cream instead, unless it needs to be cooked. I fucking hate mayo. Sour cream usually works better anyways. For the sandwiches, I made a spread with sour cream, sriracha, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. It was hella bomb.

The marinade for the pork was soy sauce, oyster sauce, crushed garlic, grated ginger, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar and sesame oil.

Not mine, but here's a pic for those who don't know what Bahn Mi is:

Props Vietnamese sandwiches are the shit...they are all over California

our service/delivery guy (my old boss) and my dad (big bossman) just got back from Alaska and were on a fishing trip. They each brought back 100 pounds of Halibut and Salmon. Soooooo bomb and fresh. Anywho heres a couple of pics. I couldn't wait til dinner to dig in. I been real good and not cheating on eating right for close to a month so I cooked a halibut steak my favorite way, pan fried. Tremendo slap.

salt and peppered then dusted in flour mix (garlic, cayenne, cumin, dried basil), then egg wash, then panko bread crumbs, fried 2 steaks (8 oz each) in 2 tbs of olive oil about 4 mins on each side (they were big and thin).. delicious.

NOTICE THE PLATE....
It's just the wifey and I and we still have only the four plates that we bought when we got our first apartment like six years ago. We don't always feel like knockin' the dishes out, so we keep a stack of Dixie plates on hand on deck at all times lol.
