Stats say otherwise, if Bush was better, he wouldnt have been the 3rd option in Oakland.

Benson hasnt played a full season, and his 1st 3 seasons he was splitting carries.
Lets be real...Bush had no shot of being better than a 3rd option with Fargas coming off a career year and new contract and Mcfadden being a first round pick. After watching the full season Bush is the best back on the team and should be starting next season ahead of Mcfadden and Fargas IMO.

I said this when the Raiders drafted Dmac, that it was a terrible pick, and they shoulda got an OL. Look at the instant impact players on the list after dmac. It made no sense with fargas already on the team....

You can never have too many backs...

But Im all for an offensive line upgrade...I just wish we didn't trade for Hall and waste those draft picks. Those could've been used on linemen.

Theres always very servicible backs in rounds 3-5. Frank Gore was a 3rd and hes a top 5 back lol
bush has potential to be that, gore had some injury problems at miami just like bush did at louisville niners took a shot and got a gem and as for benson being better than bush c'mon bro...and if they were to trade any rb it should be fargas hes shown all that he could imo. TRADE THE PICK AL!!!!

from profootballtalk:

"Garcia Heading Back To The Bay?
Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2009, 11:11 p.m.
Quarterback Jeff Garcia, a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers, could soon be playing for the team that resides on the other side of the Bay.

We’re told that Garcia has drawn the interest of the Raiders, and that he possibly could be added to the team in the not-too-distant future.

No deal has been done yet, and as far as we know no offer has been made. But it’s the closest Garcia has come to signing with a new team since hitting the market on February 27.

Garcia, 39, played in the CFL before joining the 49ers in 1999. After five years in San Fran, during which he started 71 of 80 regular-season games, he spent a disappointing year in Cleveland followed by a disappointing year in Detroit.

He seemed to revitalize his career by leading the Eagles on an unlikely playoff run in 2006, after Donovan McNabb was lost for the year with a hernia. Suddenly the toast of Philly, the Eagles didn’t bring Garcia back for a second season — possibly because McNabb felt threatened by Garcia’s popularity.

Garcia signed a relatively modest two-year deal with the Bucs in early 2007, and created a stink last year, wanting more money. Benched early in the 2008 season, Garcia nearly led the Buccaneers to the playoffs for a second straight season, but the team opted to sever ties with him.

In Oakland, Garcia would join a roster that currently includes JaMarcus Russell, Andrew Walter, and Bruce Gradkowski."

would we bring in Garcia as a starter or a backup?

I think he'd be good to have around as a backup... and to give some knowledge to JR

but I can't see him coming in and playing back up right now... I'm sure he still wants to start...

they said it should be by monday that hes on the team. hes turned down the teams offer before i guess now he knows that this is it and he would rather be a back-up and teacher and stay close to home. in the article it says he would compete for the starting job but i just cant see that happening.

I like the idea of having a veteran back-up with recent game experience. That way if need be he can get in there and be able to make things happen.

lol @ benson being better than bush.

Benson should have better stats because he's been in the league PLAYING longer (remember bush sat out his entire rookie season) and wasn't he a starter for both the bears & the bungles? and hasn't he not done shit except get a bui, boating under the influence?
