according to everyone tolliover was the most ready for the nba d-leaguer out there. and no martin was not the better d-leaguer. i think coby karl is better then martin. at least he is more effective for our team. martin had like 10 games and didnt have one i can remember that was remotely worth noting. he did grab boards tho.

he dropped 20 on sac, 16 on the nets and yup he did grab boards.

while his numbers werent eye popping, he looked more comfortable on the floor and played hard. his shot wasnt all there while he was with us... but his shots looked good for the most part. and he had some athleticism.

i need more time on coby karl, all i really see him do is jump and pass like people are chasing him

but he is supposed to be a scorer and was at the top of the d-league for points...

tolliver on the other hand, has been garbonzo beans. his shot is awful and rarely even looks like it has a chance to go in. his defense and rebounding (which is what we were supposed to get from him) are also atrocious. they list him at 6-9 but he looks like he is 6-4 and slower than a lineman. no athleticism.

and i dunno who "everyone" is to you, but most nba/d-league websites had tolliver no higher than #8 on their list when we picked him.

here are a couple d-league guys worth looking at to replace tolliver

richard hendrix - our former pick has been very productive in the d-league, in the top 3 for rebounds, while scoring in the paint and also blocking shots.

james white - small forward wing player that can jump out of the gym

these guys are garbage thats why no one else picked them up. james been in the league same with hendrix. and jumps out of the gym does nothing for me

i cant find the article but a nba scout or gm said tolliver was the most nba ready and he was also on the nbdl first team.

That aint sayin much about the D-League then.

I always take what the scouts and GMs say with a grain of salt. Monta got drafted in the second round, so did Manu and no one picked up Anthony Morrow. Steve Kerr thought Shaq would work in Phoenix

The Morrow thing is the worst because teams are ALWAYS looking for shooters, even if they can't do anything else. Maybe he didn't shoot lights out in the workouts.

tolliver is so garbage, fuck our team is beyond retarded. i know there are better players in the d-league.

and of course, we let the decently good guy, cartier martin, walk.
the dubs didnt let martin walk, a player can only sign 2 10 day contracts. after that, the team must sign him for the remainder of the season. for us to keep martin we would have to waive one of our hurt players that allowed us the roster exemption to sign him.so it was either waive buke, bell, wright, randolph or claxton, or let martin go. easy choice if you ask me.

no, we wouldnt have to waive anyone as we had 2 injury exceptions, one we used on martin and tolliver, we let martin go cus we didnt want to pay him a seasons salary when we could just sign coby karl to another 10 day contract and not lose much of any in a player. we already signed chris hunter to the rest of the season, so if anyone was going to get cut it would be him first. we are just signing these players until morrow gets back and after that we will just keep one of tolliver or coby karl or just keep getting new players to 10 day contracts.

OH SHIT, JAMES WHITE IS RAW, WELL ATLEAST AT DUNKING WE SHOULD SIGN HIM JUST SO WE HAVE AT LEAST SOMETHING TO WATCH BESIDES MONTA

james white IS raw

he won the d-league dunk contest last year, he won a euro dunk contest the year before, that in which he did every dunk from free throw line.

the scout sites say he is improving in the d-league, this year he avg'd 23 points, 53% FG, 36% 3's, 4.7 boards, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals.

edit: those might be his career numbers, its not real clear but it says 49 games 44 starts for those numbers.

not crazy numbers but an efficient slasher that can hit 3's and has potential to keep getting better.

at this point, why not get a player that can provide some highlights at the least?

3 injury exemtions, the first one, Hunter was signed for the remainder of the year when mikki moore was waived. to sign a player for the remainder of the year we will have to waive a roster player....

Warriors forward Cartier Martin's second 10-day contract expires on Saturday. The team is expected to release him and sign guard Coby Karl to a 10-day deal.

They can't sign Martin for the rest of the season because he was signed as an 'injury exemption' and therefore cannot have a guaranteed contract. It's doubtful Karl will have any fantasy value in GS.

im pretty sure if we wanted matin, we just had to sign him to the rest of the year. and we only had 2 injury exemptions at the same time, tho we used it on 4 different players.

why you say source espn.com then have a nbc sports link?

im gonna say this in the other thread, but no one in the league can say monta ballin outta control tonight is NOT connected to him not making the all star team. What an unbelievable game. 46 points on 17 of 23 shooting???? A couple more free throws would have been nice but he more than made up for it with his shooting. i know he had 7 to's also but really that means nothing. And that shot behind the backboard was amazing.

edit: i really like stephen curry so far but i think hes hit a rookie skid, and thats ok because watson has stepped it up and outplayed him...when watson shoots well he's one of the best backup point guards in the league.

finally curry has went cold. but its only been a couple games, i'm sure he needs rest. he leads all rookies with most complete games, and probably most minutes --but im not lookin that up.

watson is a free agent sleeper this off season, he has potential to be a starter and makes a great back up if u need time split.

watson has trade potential, we should use it. along with the other expiring contracts.
