with 18 assists for the team in the first half alone, i'd say it had more to do with us playing as a team then the twolves not trying. it was close until the last minute of the half.

Last night the Warriors gave an example of how Nellie's small ball can be affective if they pass the ball more and hit their shots. I dont expect it to continue for now, the Wolves looked terrible in every facet of the game.

Azubuike has played better than I expected. He's not forcing bad shots near as much and has been pretty effecient..I still hate his game though.

That shit didn't have anything to do with small ball. Passing the ball and hitting your shots works regardless of the average height of your lineup.

Thats funny coming from you Peete, since you're so quick to defend guys like Azubuike and Maggette, who are pure one on one players that rarely pass at all. One on one ball does not equal winning basketball.

Your problem is that you don't consider their role on the team before you pass judgement on them. Next thing you know, you'll be bitching about Morrow shooting too much :ermm:

What has Maggetteos done his whole NBA career? Put his head down, drive to the basket, and pretend to get fouled

Buike's stellar assist numbers didn't get the Ws attention when he was in the D League. It was his scoring, rebounding and overall strength at the 2 position. He was leading the D League in scoring when he got picked up (I believe). Plus he's a good, strong defender, even if the refs pick on him a little bit.

Morrow is a willing passer though. Your problem is that you're not realizing what kinda impact that role can have on the rest of team. When you have guys playing pure one on one style like that it can become contagious through out the team. The last thing you want is players always taking the ball up the floor and chucking a shot without looking to get a teammate a better shot. The way that one on one ball is contagious, passing the ball well can be contagious as you saw last night. I even saw Maggette drive and kick the ball out to an open shooter

i guess we shouldnt even have shooting guards then, everybody should just pass until the shot clock expires. sign more point guards.

Monta basically is a shooting guard in a point guards body.
you like labels too much. monta is a combo guard, he can play either but is a more effective scorer. but he did come out of high school, u should wait to stereotype players until they've reached their full potential. he is avg'ing career high nearly 6 assists per game this year. he improves every year at a dramatic rate. he will continue improve and run the point better and become a better decision making playmaker.

At that point you can't blame the player. You have to put it on the coach

Buike and Maggetteos RARELY bring the ball up themselves unless it's in a transition situation. They get isolated in half court situations and it's their job to do work.

We've had this convo before. Everybody ISN'T a play maker, just like everybody ISN'T a rebounder or defender or a scorer. Everybody can't do everything.

The Ws don't play any D, Monta needs to block more shots. That will make shot blocking contagious and everybody will start to block shots. :cheeky: I'm just being silly...

Monta just doesn't have the natural skills to be a real good point guard right now. He may develope them over time like Tony Parker did with the right coaching. His attitude and work ethic have been questionable ever since he signed his extension though. Curry looks alot more natural at PG and has the skills to compliment it.

no no no peete. turiaf needs to play point guard and get as many assists as possible. and every unassisted field goal should be punished with fines. just because someone is skilled enough to take someone 1on1, doesnt mean they should. instead they should have passed the ball in circles so nobody gets any ideas about shooting.
