Eventually, the Cavs will bring West back, but here’s what rival GMs and agents have wondered: At what point does Cleveland believe that Boston and Orlando are simply better and the Cavs need to make a move for Golden State’s Stephen Jackson? The Cavs have had the most serious discussions with Golden State because they’re the rare team able to absorb the $28 million left on his contract, as well as his unbalanced persona. Yahoo

With rumors again swirling that the Warriors might grant Stephen Jackson his trade request, the sold-out, opening-night crowd had a power struggle in how to deal with the swingman Wednesday. The crowd's boos overpowered the cheers during pregame introductions. Jackson was booed like he was on the road throughout his first four touches. And, after the happy side out-applauded the hater side during his first free-throw attempt, the jeers prevailed when the shot missed. San Francisco Chronicle

Coach Don Nelson said he hadn't heard the latest rumor. The team's policy is not to discuss trades, so general manager Larry Riley did not comment. "I speak to Larry every day and I haven't heard that," Nelson said. "This is the first I've heard about it, so it would surprise me if it's true." San Francisco Chronicle

On the Jax trade front, I am hearing nothing has really changed. The Warriors still don’t want to take bad contracts in exchange and they don’t want to give up too much with Jax to sweeten the deal (I’m told Ronny Turiaf is off the table). Contra Costa Times Blog

The Warriors would love to just let their expiring contracts (Speedy/Law/George), which equal $10M, to just come off the books at the end of the year and give the Warriors some cap space to work with. So there is naturally some reluctance to include a Speedy in a deal with Jax. They would prefer to use those expiring contracts in a trade if it means getting the difference-maker they want. Contra Costa Times Blog

The most likely scenario, I am convinced, is the Jax to Cleveland. (Denver has nothing the Warriors want; the Warriors probably want New Orleans to take Maggette, too;) But it won’t be until Cleveland gets desperate and become willing to give up Ilgauskas to get the piece they need to win now. If LeBron starts making noise about needing help, the pressure would really be on the Cavs to get Jax. The Warriors might even be willing to throw in Speedy because they’d be getting back an $11M expiring contract and free themselves of Jackson. Contra Costa Times Blog

You aren’t acknowledging his right to go for self since the organization clearly takes the same approach. You just condemned him for taking a three-year extension for some $28 million, like signing that extension negated his right to an opinion or to be critical of an organization. You act like the Warriors gave him charity, and beggars can’t be choosers. So you booed him. How original. Contra Costa Times Blog

Jackson: “Fans are so predictable about that. Any time you say you want to leave, that’s going to happen. I was prepared for it. They can do it all they want. I’m going to go out there and play hard for the fans that do support me.” Contra Costa Times Blog

I used to be a big fan of Ellis. Still am actually but i'm more of a curry fan now. Curry can run the point. It has yet to be seen wit Ellis, IMO. He's a sg wit a pg body. Monta still is very fun to watch though.

Either way I like the warriors n hate to see yall like this.

because he was hurt last year

having them both start is the best back court right now, they create a lot of matchup problems.

Ellis is back on the way to becoming a dominant player in this league, u'll see this season if he stays healthy.

I hope so. Monta is fun to watch.

Offense it would create match up problems but defensively it would be scary to watch cuz the opposing 2 guard can post up on either curry or monta at will and if a big bodied pg like baron posts u up. It's over.

they are better on de than u think, and we have other players to help if needed. the advantage would be larger for us on offense.

LOL at baron being a threat anymore to anybody

try and post, we have active hands all over that will help and swat them or trap and jumpball/steal

^^^ problem is there both the same position so they cant package them. Call me crazy but i already like Curry more then Ellis and hope that the W's could package Ellis and Jackson in a trade.

THEY NEED TO TRADE JACKSON AND MAGGETTI FOR ANYTHING TO OPEN UP MINUTES FOR THE PLAYERS THAT MATTER
maggette will matter. he looked weird first game and wasnt himself on offense. he was nice last year when he wasnt hurt. he shot for 50%+ from field for nearly the entire season, it finished at 46%

Call me crazy but i already like Curry more then Ellis and hope that the W's could package Ellis and Jackson in a trade.
u r crazy. curry is nice, ellis is nice - keep both. ellis will show u this year as long as he stays healthy. he is our dude. dont trade any of our young players, we have a dynasty roster in the making.

no such thing as a dynasty with a salary cap, and even in the nba where you can exceed it, no owner wants to pay the luxary tax, especially in a recession.

and in the off chance you are good for a substantial amount of years, you need a kobe, lebron or shaq to build around and at this point the dubs dont have that guy...

quit foolin. the lakers arent a dynasty? the celtics were a lightweight dynasty until injuries hit, same with spurs. the magic are building 1.

we dont have a kobe/lebron yet, but we are deep and have guys with great potential.

Curry/Randolph have potential to be great players. Monta also gets the job done.
all 3 of these guys have potential to be all stars, and they look like they will reach it.

people must be forgetting about montay and his yearly progression, every year until he hurt himself he stepped it up a notch, nearly won most improved back to back. he will be a superstar in this league very soon.

randolph is gonna break thru a wall in a year or two and improve dramatically, i dont think its gonna be this year that he flips out but we will see improvement and more playing time.

curry is on the way to being ROY this year, he already has great awareness and presence on the floor. wait until he really adjusts to the nba and gains a little strength.

then we have guys like azubuike, morrow, brandan wright. young and solid players that can help teams now with potential to keep improving, and all 3 have improved each year as well. too bad about wrights injury but he came out of college too early and needed to bulk up.

last but not least we have 2 great big men, biedrins and turiaf.

every single 1 of these players will keep improving and we should be able to sign and keep all of them--- thats a fucking dynasty.
