wow the W's getting jewed again by the refs in almost an epic comeback but the refs helped the Sixers prevent the W's from even being able to tie it

and thats way before the luxury tax, so if we wanted we could spend closer to 15 mill

but cohan wont want, so it dont matter
doubt that. a max player gets around 14 mill a year and right now only like 6-7 teams can offer a max contract and the warriors arent one of those teams.

the cap is supposed to be around 52-55 mill next season. a decline from this season.

ellis = 11 mill
biedrnis = 10 mill
maggette = 10 mill
turiaf = 4 mill

plus the pretty expensive rookie contracts of wright and curry.

i dont really know what everyone else is making next season. azubuike has to be making decent money and we gotta extend some contracts if we wanna keep some of the youngsters

here you go:
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/golden_state.htm

next year were at 53 mill unless vlad opts out of his $6 mill+ player option, which i highly doubt he does.

i didnt say we could offer a max contract, i was talking about in total money. there are other aspects such as the MLE and bird rights.

bukee gets 3.3mill next year
curry 2.9
wright 3.3

radman is the big problem, when he accepts his player option it will put us to the salary cap line. then we will go over to sign raja bell if that can be worked out.

league officials are projecting a 2010-11 salary cap of $53.6 million and a luxury-tax line of $65 million.

with Radman accepting his option we are at $53,154,820 for next year, not including any free agents or rookie contracts.

so figure 3 mill ish for our lottery pick. maybe we can get lucky and raja bell can be used as an exception, and still have 7-8ish mill to make a deal before lux tax.

but its obvious cohan wont want to do much if anything after raja bell, but at least we will have some room to make a deal like a trade involving maggette. i'd like to keep or at least sign and trade cj watson instead of letting him walk for nothing, which is what will probably happen.

and i dont think u understand how it works, good job explaining ur reason/theory about it tho.

once radman accepts his option, signing raja bell IS getting someone.

next, u arent accounting for sign and trades, and we still have a lot of players that have trade value and interest from teams. the warriors are in a good situation to work a sign and trade with a team because we have many pieces with good potential we could move.

nobody will be able to call free agency until it happens, this year is gonna be crazy and i hope both the bulls and the knicks dont get shit. i hope yall overpay for rudy gay.

signing raja bell is gettin somebody? lol yall already have him. im sayin yall aint signing nobody good in the free agency. yeh no shit u can do sign and trades, every team can but u aint gettin shit. if u over the cap, u cant jus sign anybody new. i dont know the warriors exact cap space but thats how u makin it sound. if u over the cap, u cant jus go out and sign somebody. u think u can jus sign anybody and jus pay the luxury tax? no thats not how it works. and seriously, why would conan want to go do anything to put them over luxury tax knowing the warriors aint competing for a championship. thats jus dumb and wastin money. and fuck the warriors! dont hate on the bulls cuz yall franchise cant get their shit together.

and by the way, id take rudy gay

rudy gay > warriors franchise

when u dont have enough players on ur roster, u can sign someone if ur over. u can also use an exception if ur over.

or we could do things in a way that allowed us to stay under just enough to sign someone, then use an exception aftwards.

we also dont know the final number of the cap yet.

when radman accepts, we would have 500k'ish before the cap going by that 53.xx figure they guesstimated.

at least u didnt act a ass with your reply. lol i could respect that. yeh i know u could get people when ur under roster minimum but only minimum pay players. seriously who u gonna get for 439k a year? more d-leaguers? im not talkin bout wade, bosh, lebron, but mid, even lower tier players get paid more then wut yall could spend. one of u die hard warriors fans should jus go merk radman to cancel out his contract. lol

if u are under the cap, u can sign a contract that goes over the 500k. we would have 12ish mill before lux tax.

so its obvious that i do understand this process better than you. and that we could sign one of the mid level players.

but i already kno cohan wont do anything, i just like to think about the possibilities and discuss them, and make it clear to everyone else what a shitbag cohan is.

i gave u a prop for encouraging people to off radman and his terrible contract, without his contract we would be in contention for any of the top free agents. we'd have around 20 mill before lux tax, and only 9 players under contracts.

the salary cap was 57.7 million this season

the warriors have the 21st highest salary in the league at just under 66 million.

the blazers had the lowest for this season at 55.6 mill.

so as u can see, its not just common for teams to go over the salary cap, but its normal that nearly every team is over, every year.

there are 6 teams at 80+ million salary for this year

these numbers arent 100% up to date but they still make it clear that the warriors could easily acquire more salary, if cohan wanted.

It's not just about Cohan man. There are 29 other teams trying to get better. Everyone is fighting for the top prizes. Also team needs and chemistry also affect going after a player. Like how no one wanted Zach Randolph. I'd say it more unlikely warriors being in a position to get a star then paying for him. Remember warriors were going to resign Amare at max contract and still have Ellis and maggs contract. So it's not like the warriors are super cheap. They didn't even cut salary this season on purpose. They even spent more by signing hunter and tolliover to contracts

NO U WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET A TOP FREE AGENT. WHERE THE HELL ARE U GETTIN THIS SHIT FROM? NEXT SEASON YALL WOULD HAVE MONTA, CURRY, MAGGETTE, BIEDRINS, RANDOLPH, TURIAF, AZABUIKE, WRIGHT, AND RADMAN UNDER CONTRACT. SAY RAD IS GONE, HE WOULD HAVE GOT PAID 6.8. HALF OF THAT WOULD GO TO YOUR ROOKIE. U WOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR GETTING A TOP FREE AGENT. THIS IS ALL AFTER U LOSE MORROW, CJ WATSON, ETC. FOR NUTHIN. IF YALL PLANNING ON RESIGNING ANY OF THEM, THEN YALL WOULDNT EVEN BE CLOSE. WITH RADMAN GONE, YALL STILL DONT HAVE ENOUGH FOR A TOP FREE AGENT. U CAN ONLY GO OVER THE CAP TO RESIGN YOUR OWN PLAYERS, SIGN A MLE, OR MINIMUM CONTRACT. U CANT SIGN FOR EXAMPLE BOSH WHEN U DONT HAVE THE MONEY THINKIN YOU'LL JUS PAY THE LUXURY TAX. U CANT DO THAT, THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS. IF THAT WAS THE CASE, NO TEAM WOULD TRY TO DUMP SALARY AND JUS PAY TAX TO GET A STAR. THE WARRIORS COULD GET A ALRIGHT PLAYER, BUT A TOP FREE AGENT? NO, U COULDNT

well said danked but ur forgetting that we dont have enough players under contract, there are other exceptions/loopholes and ways to make things happen.

and we wouldnt go into luxury tax until its like 15 mill over the cap.

and no rookie will be getting 6.8 mill any year. the number 1 pick gets between 3-4 mill. its on a set scale.

we will have to wait and see what actually happens, my hopes are never up tho until the team is sold.

Jerry West for GM if Ellison buys the team. Hopefully West doesnt trade Steph AND Monta for Adam Morrison.

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawaka...ing-up-in-potential-warriors-transition-talk/

But the same source–who was the first person to tell me outright that Ellison and Cohan held purchase talks in July–said that West might have more serious involvement with another, unnamed group interested in buying the team and eventually moving it to San Francisco.

“West’s name is coming up,” the source said. “I think he’s in play on this.”

The source didn’t know if West was possibly just advising groups looking at the Warriors or if West could come aboard as a part-owner, basketball kingpin if a sale goes through.

NAH I SAID RAD WOULD GET 6.8 NEXT SEASON, YOUR ROOKIE WOULD GET AROUND HALF OF THAT NOT THE WHOLE 6.8. IF YOUR UNDER ROSTER REQUIREMENTS, U COULD SIGN MINIMUM OR MLE FA'S TO FILL OUT THE ROSTER. IF YOUR UNDER THE SOFT CAP, U COULD USE UP YOUR MONEY FOR WHOEVER. THERES NO LOOP HOLES TO SIGN WHOEVER U WANT JUS CUZ U DONT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS UNDER CONTRACT
