After the Warriors practiced on Thursday afternoon, coach Don Nelson took Stephen Curry, Anthony Morrow, Anthony Tolliver and a couple coaches to a downtown Oakland bar for a "bonding session."
"Actually, I was out of money and I needed some cash," said Nelson, "So I took the young guys out and shot a little shuffleboard ... and took their money." Add shuffle-board hustler to Nellie's impressive credentials.
Warriors coach Don Nelson hinted that Andris Biedrins might be letting his awful free throw shooting dictate his play.
Biedrins is 3-of-23 from the FT line this season, a ridiculous 13% clip. "He doesn't seem to want to go to the free-throw line, so he is staying away from the moves and places that give him a chance to get fouled," said Nelson. Our hopes of a turnaround are quickly fading -- since Feb. 6 he's averaging just 4.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.5 blocks.
Raja Bell still has about six weeks of rehabilitiation to do on his left wrist, and he isn't expected to play until April. He said he is excited about possibly re-signing with the Warriors, noting, "I've always been the underdog guy ... a team like this would be a great fit for me."
