Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Giants and Mariners have discussed a trade involving Brandon League.
Seattle covets Brandon Belt, but one would assume it would take a lot more than League to pull that trade off. Then again, League was once dealt for Brandon Morrow, so anything is in play. Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reported Sunday that the Mariners were close to trading League, but the veteran reliever was seen warming up during today's game. In other words, a trade doesn't appear imminent. League scuffled earlier this season and was yanked from his ninth-inning gig, but has pitched very well of late, putting up a 1.96 ERA since the beginning of June.

FUCK ownership needs to fucking do that shit. Stadium is sold out every game, everyone buys the $10 beers and $8 garlic fries like crazy. Having a power hitting right handed in the lineup would be a big boost especially once Pablo gets back. Pence has proven he can hit bombs at AT&T too.

Report: Alfonso Soriano won’t accept trade to San Fran

ESPN’s Jim Bowden reports that Alfonso Soriano has told the Cubs he will not accept a trade to the Giants.

The main Soriano rumors of late have placed him with Ryan Dempster in a possible deal to the Dodgers. The Giants are looking for outfield help with Gregor Blanco fading, but Soriano lacks the defensive range they prefer from their outfielders. They’ve been focused on Philadelphia’s Hunter Pence, according to reports.

Soriano has a full no-trade clause, so he can say no to any scenario he pleases. He’d probably prefer to go to a park that better suits his power stroke than AT&T.
