This weak attendance is really starting to get to me. Where did all the fans go? I remember in the 90s going to A's games at it was always pretty crowded.
We need a new stadium ASAP, and so do the Raiders. Demolish the coliseum
Its tough, itll take a prodigious winning season to start drawing more people with this team. The scheduling didnt help, you have the actual opening day in Japan, then play Seattle, and then rainy games against the Royals, before taking off to Seattle again, this month was destined to be poorly attended. If the A's are expected to travel to Japan and help create this revenue, but cant be rewarded with scheduling a "must see" game at home against the Yankees or someone that will draw...But dont forget, aside from the period when the Haas family owned the team, the A's have had historically poor attendence. In 74' and 75' after multiple WS they would only sell tickets dugout to dugout in the lower section...To be honest Im passed the issue, this team isnt going to draw big numbers, the coliseum isnt going bring out anyone. To bring folks they need a talented/solid team, to do that they need revenue, to get revenue they need a stadium, at this point its all Selig's fault, this isnt a 3 year decision its a 3 hour decision. At any rate, im enjoying this season, I think they have lots of potential, and Ill always be a diehard A's fan. It sucks were in a down time, but itll get better.
