Yea that's the main rumor flying around, the other is Bynum let the Magic know he would not automatically extend his contract and will opt for Free Agency. Latest rumor that is picking up steam is that the nets, cavs, and Magic are working out a 3 team deal that sends Howard to Brooklyn. Seems like Dan Gilbert is trying to troll the Lakers and Lebron, I think Howard should go to Brooklyn, at the end of the day it's where he wants to go and there will be a lot less pressure there for him. I don't think he is cut out for the championship or bust mentality that is in Laker land.
and based on what you posted about him and kobe having that talk earlier in the year, it just wouldnt be a good idea having him on your team. I could see some major issues with that. Let him go to Brooklyn. did it say who we would get?

Again, people: Cleveland isn't providing picks to trade for a player it can sign for free. Any picks are going the other way.

Hardwood Paroxysm ‏@HPbasketball
The Nets need to send a player to a team to get a player to send to a team to get picks to send to CLE, and another to send to ORL.

Hardwood Paroxysm ‏@HPbasketball
OR, they need to find a team who wants to take on salary from ORL while also sending CLE a pick to take Hump.

Hardwood Paroxysm ‏@HPbasketball
Does anyone want to take on Hedo Turkoglu's contract for a first rounder? If so, Billy King has a Sundiata Gaines sign-and-trade for you!

Lakers who have Bynum not as desperate to get Howard as the Nets; Magic perfer trade w/ Lakers where they get Bynum, hence the false leak.

The P @pff trade is turning into a game of high stakes poker between the Magic, Nets & Lakers. Will be interesting to see who wins.

Source: Reports of Howard being traded to the Nets was deliberately leaked by Magic to try to gain leverage in trade talks with the Lakers.

Jarrod Rudolph: Magic will complete one last sweep before completing the trade, sources say. They want to make sure they’re accepting best offer

Hennigan also said he spoke with Dwight today and added "there's a chance, yeah" that Howard could return to ORL. Unbelievable.

Lakers interested in Leandro Barbosa

ESPN reports that the Lakers could have interest in Leandro Barbosa.

The Lakers have previously said they're unlikely to use their mid-level exception, and considering Barbosa's remaining ability, there's not a lot of reason to think the Lakers can land the speedster, but it would be a big pickup.

There's a lingering thought that the Lakers need a shooter to complete the roster, and Barbosa is good enough from the perimeter and can bring some offense management as well. He's good friends with Steve Nash from his days in Phoenix, and would fit well with the other players on the Lakers. Maybe most notably, he'd add speed off the bench with veteran experience.

But again, it's tough to see him going for the amount of money that the Lakers can offer.

Barbosa is curently in London with the Brazilian national team who barely edged host nation Great Britain 79-78 on Thursday.
