Hill would be solid because he can knock down shots consistently and is a legit defender, I would think he would be a cheap signing too. Also yea i agree nash isn't perfect and is 38 years old, but if Kobe is on board with the signing then I'm on board with it. No one knows this team better then Kobe, Lakers finally have a legit all star ball handler that Kobe has never once had in his career as a Laker. He's what we should've had last season with Chris Paul, obviously not as good and young as paul but still solid. The thing that concerns me about a Bynum, Kobe, Gasol, Nash, and MWP line up is that the lakers still have the same problem as last season, old and slow. That's why as a fan it would be dope if the lakers could package a deal for Josh Smith(gasol+filler or picks) then get howard(Bynum+picks or fillers).

Nash
Kobe
Ebanks?
Smith
Howard

2014 first round and 2013 and 2015 2nd round, Also i just mentioned picks as an option, not as the main thing to convince a team to make a trade with the lakers. Pau Gasol and Bynum have a lot of value, so a pick/cash is just a bonus. Also a lot of trades that involve big names include 3 teams, So the third team involved can provide picks for the Lakers.

Los Angeles is now looking to add even more battle-proven players, showing interest in signing unrestricted free agents Grant Hill and Antawn Jamison.

Jamison is expected to meet with the Lakers next week.

At age 36, Jamison proved that he can still put up good scoring numbers despite the aging process. This past season he started all 65 games for Cleveland while putting up 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

the reason i would trade gasol for smith is because smith is 26 years old and won't demand the 18 million a year gasol is getting, but i agree as of right now Gasol>Smith. Mainly becuase smith doesn't have a mid range shot, so the paint will get clogged. Lakers need to start acquiring some players who can open up the lanes by consistently knocking down 3's.

The Los Angeles Lakers have made it clear they want to re-sign restricted free agent Devin Ebanks. Barring a huge offer, Lakers will match.

So the news I got from a very credible source was what most called and as I said was leaked all day.. Dwight to LA for Bynum.

The deal was contingent upon Dwight signing an extension was the only way LA would do the deal to make Dwight the new face as Kobe ages.

After the Nash deal went down.. Dwight agreed to extend with LA realizing Magic didn't want him in NJ.

LA spoke with Bynum and Bynum agreed he would sign long term with Orlando.

Today LA insisted before making it public they wanted their back specializest to re evaluate Dwights back.. Current, State and future injuries he could get.

LA got very concerned when their Dr today said although his back is recovering well, he feels there could be some concerns long term.

LA is still not turned off but it caused them to sit back for a few and re evaluate the trade.

Orlando is scared for them to wait and wants this done now! They do not want to put Dwight in the locker room nor do they want to let Bynum even play with Nash and give LA hope and leverage in a trade.

Jameers extension was linked because he really was fed up with Dwight and when he heard the trade was going down.. He put his butt in the seat he was waiting for.

Look at the rumors all day and you will see how people are hinting all over this.

One thing is for sure.. Dwight will not be goin to NJ no matter what people say or promise.. The magic want him out the East.
Props to the OP on the Orlando Magic forum if this info is true, I'm just not sold on the whole howard back problem situation. If his back was such a major concern then why was half of the league interested in dwight.

I don't know about this trade, back injuries are no joke. And with bynumb's knee actually holding up through the season and playoffs, I trust his health more than dwight's right now. just look how amare struggled with his back problems in new york, he got a max deal and ain't worth shit now.

either way the lakers are gonna be tough coming out of the west period.... Steve nash even as old as he is is leaps and bounds better at the point than ANY other option they have. Pick and roll specialist and a smart player to go with Kobe.... Lakers will be tough even without dwight....

Very good point but if the Lakers keep bynum they need to get rid of Gasol asap for an athletic wing, Bynum and Gasol on the same squad just doesn't work anymore. So trade bynum for howard and keep gasol or Keep bynum and trade gasol.

Lakers "very interested" in making move for Dwight Howard

The Los Angeles Lakers are considering an offer from the Orlando Magic that would send Dwight Howard to L.A. in exchange for Andrew Bynum, a source close to the situation tells PepperOnSports.com.

I know, I know. You’ve heard it all before. Here’s the fun part:

The source says the Lakers have informed one player that he might be part of the package deal and that he could be traded at any moment.

The Lakers are “very interested” in acquiring Howard, according to the source.

Depending on which hour you inquire about a Bynum-for-Howard swap dictates the type of news you’ll get regarding the topic, so your guess is as good as mine. But as of Thursday afternoon pacific time, the Lakers front office phones were blazing hot with.

Whether or not the trade happens, it sure is courteous of the Lakers to give players with trade-potential a heads up in hopes of making a tough transition smoother. Stay classy, L.A.
