If anyone cares theres another upcoming boxing movie currently in pre-production with legendary boxer Vinny Paz. Which could be considered the best comeback in boxing ever, after getting into a tragic car accident Vinny was told he could never box again due to breaking his neck.

This would set up a much more developed and better story than "The Fighter" if you look at all the hardships and downfalls.

saw it tonight, it was great. loved how they had larry merchant, emanuel stewart, jim lampley all doing the commentary. not sure if they redid their lines but they were basically the exact same things they said during the neery and green fights almost word for word i think. i liked how they worked the hbo documentary high on crack street into the film too. i thought it was really good and the wifey liked it too.

and there was mention of the gatti trilogy at the end of the fight, just saying that he went on to have an epic three fight trilogy with him

the director used the commentary from those fights and put it into the movie

I really want to see this, but the lack of the Gatti trilogy makes me a little hesitant. I'll probably just wait til it hits DVD.

i figured as much, it seemed like the exact commentary from what i remember in the shea neary fight.

also, as far as the Gatti trilogy not being in the movie, they might have been able to do it had he still been alive, but with it being so close and such a sensitive thing i think it was best they left it out and just mentioned it at the end. also, Neary was the only real name they used for any of the fights Ward had in the movie

saw this movie today. everyone keeps talking about how christian bale stole the show and he most definitely did. I think it's his best performance to date, if you really think about it. In batman, there isn't much to his character. American pyscho he's totally void of any emotion, the mechanist it's basically that he's just skinny as fuck. In this though, he's a fucking crackhead and dicky ward. He nailed that character.

probably my favorite movie of the year, i give it a 9/10. Everything was done very well. Mark Wahlberg did a great job too, but under looked because of bale. Gotta give Wahlberg all the credit though, he's the one that kept this film going over 4 years of failure. His determination is the only reason this movie was made. Such a crazy story and dysfunctional family.

You can watch the actual HBO: High on crack street w/dicky ward they filmed in the 90's here:

yeah i came home and watched high on crack street after watching the movie. wonder what became of boo boo
I stand corrected. I guess you didn't watch the end credits or didn't notice that they showed Boo-Boo with Dickey as the credits rolled. I was amazed that he was still alive. On topic I thought the movie was good but I don't see why everyone thinks Bale was so great.

i just saw them talkin to dicky and micky at the end. from what i read on the internet they showed alot more of the real characters at the end of the movie, i guess i left the theatre too early, cuz i thought that was it
