I gave this movie a 2nd look after checkin out the IMDB forums.

Spoilers..

Who thinks Eli was blind or partly blind? Heightened sense of smell (the ocean, the hijackers on the freeway "30 feet away"), hearing (hearing the bird and shootin his arrow through it, hearing the cars comin for him, etc.)

Like when hes approaching the car beginning of the film, he takes his bag and hits the door with it, almost in the same way he kicks the stairs of the old couples home before walking up them. Testing an object he cant 100% see clearly?

What about his ipod? Shit said "low battery" and he kept pushin buttons on it to see if itd play.

If he is blind, how the fuck did he know the bridge ended when he approached the edges? Or where the fuck alcatraz was in position from the land and the island it sits on?

IDK..just saw the discussion on the forums and it made me wonder.

He was guided and protected by a higher power, example...he gets shot and keeps going.

Thought the movie was cool. But pretty predictable. Some pretty dope action scenes, I really liked the shootout at those old folks house.

I had high expectations after wacthing the trailer, only to have them being smashed down when I watched the movie.
I didn't like it one bit (and yes I got the movie).
Movie was hella disapointing, but it did make me wanna play Fallout3 again, though.

Fallout 3 is about a man searching for his father in an American Wasteland, which makes it similar to Eli's story.

What a lot of people hate about the movie are the blatant religious ideologies in the film, but I think it helped the film stand out beyond other films that I've seen.

All too often is religion alluded to without direct connection to plot, so to see it as the main focus makes it all the more amazing for me.

This is the kind of movie I either watch multiple times in a day or go out and buy and revisit many times thereafter.

I didn't like this one. It felt like the writer(s) had an idea for a twist and then just threw a crappy story around it. The movie is trying so hard to be spiritual and inspiring, all the while it has to be one of the most mundanely shot and acted movie I could imagine given the material. So much of it had a music video feel. It felt cheap, and it was obviously banking on its twist, which just made it feel even cheaper.
Basically.

Take the "twist" at the end away and this movie is just a flatline. Now, this movie didn't really bore me, and I had no problem whatsoever watching the entire thing, but it really wasn't that good.

I also prefer The Road. Though, it did get a little slow as the movie went on. The first half hour was awesome, then it was just "good". The Book Of Eli relied heavily on the twist at the end, which to me, didn't work as well as it did for many others.

i dont take shea as a gamer, but fallout is still one of the best games made..takes some time getting into but that shit will suck you in.

i agree though. with out the twist the story was average, but same with sex..take away the feeling of the busting and sex is all the same right? well, whatever..you get what i'm saying..
