yeah, one of my teachers said it isn't bad to paint with your wrist...it's just bad to use it a lot.

^ that is his drawing...took him about 10 hrs. talk about high definition...

i begin using my arm/shoulder, as he suggests, but after a while my shoulder gets tired, then i end up using my wrist when drawing/painting long strokes (no homo) on a fairly big paper/canvas.

and you used then instead of than

just take aleve or something, seriously

use a heat pad

if that doesn't work see a doc

and yeah, don't lift if it hurts
I thought you were never supposed to put heat on if you don't know what the injury is?

When I went to the doctor recently for my shoulder...he said never apply heat if you don't know what the injury is because if it's a tear, you can make it worse.

i got tendinitis in my left wrist from work. i went to the doctor a few weeks ago and she gave me some prednisone and a brace. it still hurts and its one of those things that if you just ignore it, it'll more than likely just get worse.

Yeah.. I went big for a while, and it helped a lot, but I went back down in size of my canvas/paper.

^ that is my favorite instructor/mentor. He now does these awesome non-objective "abstract" landscape watercolors of the local river banks around here that are just amazing.

My back hurts more than anything. :(

just copped some wrist wraps

I see what you're saying duke of earl... I tried em on and they give me way more support than the wrist wraps on my gloves... I can make em wrap em tight as fuck... I like wearing gloves... but fuck it... I've been getting callouses on my hands anyways because I deadlift without gloves...might as well sav it out all the way

although I could put the gloves over the wrist wraps... or the other way around... but that might be a bit much... I'll see

I also got a hand grip to help me do some wrist exercises

right on

I'm probably gonna use em for basically everything... at least for a week or so... or until my wrist feels better

actually did some wrist strengthening exercises and stretches yesterday and it already feels better... I don't think it was too serious to begin with... but I'm still gonna be careful
