Also, keep your keyboard closer to waist level, because its more likely that its being on the computer that's causing the tendonitis, then working out.

It happens when your arms and wrists are in the same position for long periods of time...and especially when your arms are elevated and wrists are turned down for prolonged periods.

i just copped a wrist brace... got the little padding on the palm so it elevates your wrist... works good for the computer

also got some bengay and some wrist tape

I'm gonna use the wrist tape before I work out... then put my gloves with the wrist wraps over that

I already had some ibuprofen so I took a couple of those

damn this bengay has my shit on fire right now... it feels good though

Anyone ever get wrist tendonitis?

I think I have that shit, I'm not positive... but from looking at a few places online it seems to match the symptoms I'm having

I'm trying to decide whether or not I should stay out of the gym... I know lifting weights probably wouldn't be the best idea. However, it never hurts when I lift... only when I twist it doing regular shit throughout the day... like turning the steering wheel driving... opening doors... shit like that

I should probably go to the doctor... but I dunno
I've had it...I rolled my wrist on a heavy bag and continued to lift and you guessed it, it got worse..I wore a wrist brace for like a year and it still never got better...they even did an mri to see if somethin was torn but it wasn't..finally after like a year n a half they gave me a shot of cortisteriod in the wrist..the next day it was 100..Just tell em do give you the fuckin shot and save yourself a year of pain but they all stash wit it tho like its they last j or somethin but thats the ONLY thing that will cure it!

is the shot painful?

I fuckin hate needles... but I guess it would be worth it if it heals it up and relieves the pain fast

when my rotator cuff was fucked up the doctor was talkin about giving me a shot if it didn't heal on it's own... I just rested and it ended up healing it self though

nobody suggested Carpal Tunnel?

And if you think its from lifting, definitely get straps instead of gloves.

But don't get the straps with the metal hooks like that other guy suggested.

Also stretch your wrists before/after you lift.

However, most importantly, DO STRENGTH TRAINING for your wrists. There are a few simple wrist exercises that strengthen all the muscles around the joints so you eventually take a bigger load off your joints.

I used to get weird wrist pains from random odd movements as a result of breaking my right pinky knuckle in a way that went down the bone into my hand and eventually wrist.

But after I did a lot of grip strength exercises and started using lifting straps (not gloves or hooks) I ended up feeling a lot better. The straps help build your grip strength better than gloves or hooks.

For a while I couldn't even do push ups cuz of my wrist, now I'm just fine.

...except for my torn up shoulder, lol. But thats definitely a doctor thing. Hope yours isn't.

EDIT: Ironically enough, don't wear the lifting straps when you do the wrist exercises though.

right on

I gotta look up some wrist exercises I can do

so you still lifted while your wrist was hurting? and didn't cause any extra damage

honestly I don't care if it takes longer to heal... because like I said... it's not affecting my lifting... I just don't want the problem to get worse... so far it hasn't... but who knows...

Well, I didn't do close grip on my bench for the longest time, but in all reality bro the wrist strengthening I did coupled with the weight lifting straps helped tremendously. I think mine was joint/tendon issues, and as long as you can still lock your wrist while you're say... doing bicep curls, you're most likely not going to injure it past what it is. But low weight wrist curls and stretching before/after your work outs could be all the cure you need.

shit I actually did CGBP last thursday... with no pain and didn't make the pain worse afterwards either

I was hesitant because that exercise is kinda crucial on your wrists... but I love it for hitting tris... I started light and lowly added weight... pain never kicked in

so I guess my shit aint THAT bad

also I ws able to do some bicep curls no problem... didn't go real heavy on em... but I rarely do when hitting bis anyways... I get my heavy bi work in on back exercises and go a little higher reps after on curls

the gloves have wraps on them... kinda like these

you think straight wrist wraps would work better? I've never used them... but the gloves seem to help... if I strap them up tight they provide some cool support
