Yea that's why I put OT(Off Topic). My bad for not making that clear. Have you mentioned anything about the colors bleeding to the printer?

yea, i design in cmyk, don't even use rgb really
thats ur problem.....
but its not necessarily ya fault tho:
when i was in school i had professors tell me to start in CMYK
if your designing for it, and some said what im gonna tell u....
believe me the latter WILL save u problems later!
YES u have to calibrate ur monitor......
but u should be working in RGB until the time comes to prep the file for printing.....
CMYK produces some colors RGB doesnt reproduce and vice versa.....
u can see some of this by turning on the GAMUT WARNING
(this is done after u have CMYK proofing set up, while working in RGB,
u switch to the proofing in the menu and it will show ya work in CMYK
this makes ugly GREY over any colors you wont be able to faithfully reproduce on a printer)
if u go 2 PHOTOTSHOP help and look up some of the terms ive given u,
(GAMUT WARNING, CMYK PROOFING) ull find everything u should need

man that calibrating shit is confusing as fuck

i tried reading how to do it on them sites, that shit is in hebrew
that shit is not hard like theyre making it......
i forgot where the control panel is located in WINDOWS
(but prolly in the CONTROL PANEL section, "dee dee dee" to me!)
if uve already found the calibrator, just follow the directions ]
to a tee and ull be str8

so anybody know if anything is wrong with those settings??
ur default RGB profile should always be "ADOBE RGB (1998)"
UNLESS the press/printer ur sending to has a custom profile
theyd prefer u 2 use....... they usually wont tell u shit bout this,
so make sure u ask them if they have 1....
cuz hey: if u send it to em and the color aint right,
guess whos gotta pay to fix the pre-press?

but why would I want to design in RGB if I can do my whole design in CMYK from the jump and not need to convert it in the end?

thanks for the responses too by the way

because ur monitor produces color in RGB (RED, GREEN & BLUE) pixels.....
and what ur looking at in CMYK on the screen is not faithful to the print....
CMYK are the inks and a monitor cannot
show u on screen these inks as they print......
but the GAMUT WARNING can show u what is wrong......
I need to do it my-dam-self, but invest in a SPYDER CALIBRATOR
for your computer...last time i cheked theyre $300
or if ure really baller,
get a perfectly color-calibrated monitor for 5-10 Gz........
and no problem at all,
i just wish i had people to help me when these issues were hurting my brain....
so just follow my example and teach 1 :devious:

you need to calibirate your monitors most designers dont do this or even know what the fuck it is, its a video editing technique, look up monitor callibrating, basically you get something that you have printed(and pull it up on your comp also) turn all your lights off(that affect the brightness of your screen) and change the rgb, gamma, brightness of your screen to match it, adobe even comes with a color callibrater, cmyk settings and all that is people just talkin outta of there ass. your screen isnt callibrated, thats your problem, if you never callibrated your screen then 99.9% chance that it wont look the same as printed. its used in video editing to match the colors of a t.v to your video on the screen and to match your camera to the colors on the tv because there all different
yea i remember my teacher tellin us bout that shit last semester.
