I TRIED GETTING ON THE LINE UP FOR 3 MONTHS..
NEVER GOT ANYTHING BACK AS FAR AS EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS..
I GUESS I SHOULD OF HAD SHIT LOCKS OR PLAYED A SOUTHSIDER IN A MOVIE..
BEFORE I GOT AT THEM..
THATS WHY CANT FUCK WIT IT, I REFUSE TO PERFORM AND SUPPORT A COMPANY THAT DOESNT ACKNOWLEDGE, APPRECIATE OR RESPECT WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE. I'D RATHER KICK IT AND MINGLE WIT THE FANS TO SHOW LUV. NOW THAT WE WERE "ABLE" TO PERFORM, ITS SUPPOSE TO BE ALL GOOD? THEY SHOULD BE PAYIN THE HOMIES TO PERFORM INSTEAD OF MAKIN IT A PRIVILEGE. JUST MY OPINION. I WILL BE SUPPORTIN THE DEVOTIONS CAR SHOW IN SAC THAT DAY.

thats right tone.. if fools really knew how streetlow mag feels about the "homiez" they wouldnt pay to get in them shows. im done supportin streetlow magazine and i wish i had the power to get all my northern gente to boycott a couple of their shows so they see just how much money the "people" they cant stand really bring in. they told me to my face that the owner of streetlow didnt want me to perform cuz of what i represent and the "type" of crowd i would bring in.. and when i say the people i would bring in are already comin to ur shows i get a stupid look. ive tried over n over again to contact the owner and i get nothin back. its always one of his photographers or writers gettin back at me. they pay thousands to get too short and e40 to perform when they dont have nothin to do with the lowridin lifestyle.. but they act like we should be on our knees sayin thank you when they let a homie perform.. why you think the homeboys that worked for streetlow all quit and went on to do their own thing. cuz these fools hate on the homiez but dont complain when the money comes rollin in. and i aint even trippin off performin im use to gettin hated on and my shows gettin shut down. but streetlow is suppose to represent the raza and the lowridin community. but every show i go to its a bunch of scrapers, muscle cars wit gucci interior, new suv's wit lambo doors and a performance list of fools shakin dreads. i heard on the radio they gonna have a jerkin contest at this show?? a fuckin jerkin contest at a streetlow car show. they're losin sight of what they started and who they are representin straight up! i would love to go to the show and kick it wit my peoples but i aint gonna give them my money to get in the gate.

i think the whole thing you just said is on point ^ i asked gilbert (streetlow mag owner) about the performences and how that the people in the lineup should attract people to come to the shows to look at cars but also have a good lineup on stage so that people would actually want to pay and stay to watch that. i know people who have gone to shows mainly just to see the performences. and with the lineup i see for this show its probly the weakest they have had considering that san jo streetlow's are usually always packed

They ain't the 1st magazine that's supposed to represent this kind of culture & then sell out, so I ain't surprised. I knew something was up once I started seeing them kick it more down South & what not.

I think alot of you take shit way too personally. I'd like to offer a few points and by me doing this I mean do disrespect, just a different perspective.

First of all, nobody owes you anything. You must realize that just because it's a low-rider show, you don't have any given right to perform just because you're a homeboy and the show is in NorCal.

Make hit songs and people will want to book you. I know alot of you think you have hit songs. You don't. They spend thousands on e-40 and too short because they draw a crowd. There are no homeboy rappers that are on the same level. Besides e40 and too short conduct business in a quality manner, they know what they are doing and are not a liability of loss of revenue or causing shit to pop off. Until you've had some success, you might want to consider knocking on some doors to play some events for free.

This is a business, and as most of you who have worked for a successful business knows that you stock your shelves with shit that will actually sell. People are not in business to "keep it real", it's about money. This is why this magazine books a diverse show which is to attract money from other places. Blacks, asians and white people spend money too it only makes sense to invite them into the lowrider scene.

the magazine supposedly prides itself on keepin it "raza" and stickin to the lowrider cultura. streetlow mag was made because of the wanting of a magazine to represent the lowrider culture. lowrider magazine sold out way back. we all know that. so where does too short, e40, dem hoodstarz come into the lowriding raza?? where does jerkin and skinny jeans come into the lowriding culture? they dont!! so basically what im sayin is streetlow magazine started with the intent to "keep it real" and they blew up keepin it real and not being like lowrider magazine in any way. but now they are losing that perspective and are goin the same route lowrider magazine went. they are gettin blinded by the money. just like lowrider magazine did.

ive been lowriding since 1995! been in car clubs and really lived the lowridin lifestyle since 95'.. so i take it to the heart when it comes to this shit. i bought the first issue of streetlow and every issue since up until about 6 months ago. i remember the feelin of readin a magazine that was really for us and by us. so to see it gettin flipped into some garbage just to make money is sickening to me. this mag started in northern cali and wether they like it or not.. any show they put on in northern cali 90% or more of the people there showin cars, selling product, or payin to get in are northerners or affiliated wit it in some way. the owner cant stand us but luvs the money we bring in.. thats what i got a problem with. i understand aint none of us on the level of e40 or too short in the whole thing but like it or not the people who attend the streetlow shows in northern cali want to see us perform because they are OUR fanbase. down south NO.. other state nah.. but up here in the north the people who attend these shows are who we sell to and that is our fan base.. it would be nice to perform but like i said im use to gettin hated on so i aint really trippin off it. i can give a fuck about performin at the shows. i just hate seein somethin corrupted over money and thats what is happenin with this magazine..

YOUR RIGHT, NO ONE OWES NOBODY ANYTHING. BUT SOME RESPECT AND APPRECIATION GOES ALONG WAY. ANYBODY THAT GOES TO THESE SHOWS SEE'S THE LUV SOME OF THE HOMIE RAPPERS GET, SO OBVIOUSLY PEOPLE ALSO COME TO MEET THERE FAVORITE ARTIST TOO AND STREETLOW REEPS THE BENEFITS FROM THAT ASWELL. FOR EXAMPLE, IMPALAS CAR SHOW IN CHICO. THEY REACHED OUT WITH RESPECT AND ASKED IF WE WOULD PERFORM FOR THEYRE SHOW. THEY MADE IT CLEAR THAT THERE WILL BE NO MONEY PAID BUT THEY WILL COMP US WITH A BOOTH AND FOOD AND ANYTHING WE WANTED. IF ANYBODY WAS THERE, THEN THEY WOULD SEE THE SUPPORT WE HAD. WE TORE OVER $3,000 AT OUR BOOTH ON $10 CDS AND $5 DOLLER POSTERS. ALL IM SAYIN IS, ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT WE DO INSTEAD OF ACTIN LIKE WE SHOULD BE PRIVILEGED TO HIT THAT STAGE. I WAS PRESENTED AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM AND I DECLINED ONCE AGAIN. I GOT TOO MUCH PRIDE FOR THAT. I KNOW WE AINT "E 40" OR "TOO SHORT" BUT I ALSO KNOW WE BRING SOMETHIN TO THE TABLE FOR THEM. DAVINA WILL BE PERFORMING THERE ON HER OWN.
