It's not, I just honestly wasn't aware. Because I grew up in a town with a shitload of Portuguese people and most of them considered themselves nonwhite...

i dont know, they are light skinned, but as far as the european thing, spain is part of europe and theyre pretty dark complected (in comparison to most other euro countries), i dont know much about portuguese people . The Portuguese people I know are proud Portuguese people, not proud white people. How can people be proud of being white? I still don't get it. To me, it's like people being proud of NOT being black, Latino, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc.,

it puzzles me when i see people who are ashamed of their heritage (not saying you are, LQ). my uncle's friend found out he was 1/4 black and he was crying for the whole day...i thought it was pathetic how he reacted
