Sigur Rós anyone on here listen to them?

I saw their video on Subterranean (Indie music video show on MTV2) for the song "Hoppípolla" a few days ago. I was really digging it so I checked out some snippets on allmusic.com and watched some performances on youtube.com. After that I went and picked up Ágætis Byrjun and their newest album Takk...

Both of the albums really blew me away. I listend to both straight through like 4-5 times in the past few days

These guys are amazing IMO. It's really laid back music for the most part...something to relax too. It's kind of instrumental but they do have a lead singer who's sound is really hard to explain.

I'm going to pick up the rest of their albums right now. So I just thought I'd see if anyone else on here has heard of them or like their music.

Hahaha...yeah I just got into this type of shit in like the last 2-3 months. The dude at the store asked me if I was going to go home and stare at the wall for a few hours lol.

I was going to pick up a few Mogwai albums too...but I didn't have enough cash and the banks are closed. I'll pick them up later this week.

iv been into instrumentals and downtempos with no vocals for a while.seems like voices and singers sometimes get in the way of the music.

LOL...tell me about it. I just got into this shit like 2-3 months ago. I'm about to go pick up the rest of the Godspeed albums...Check out A Silver Mt. Zion (members of Godspeed are part of the group), Explosions in the Sky (their shit is fucking amazing) and Smurf just let me know about Red Sparowes ( I downloaded some songs and now I'm going to get the album)

From what I have heard of Mogwai I was feeling it. They are like one of the "original" bands of the genre from what I understand. I was going to swoop up one of their cd's yesterday but I ran out of cash lol.

Can you reccomend some more bands along the lines of Godspeed, Explosions in the Sky, Red Sparowes, A Silver Mt. Zion,etc. That are easily accesable (to buy their albums) because the ones you listed earlier I couldn't find anywhere.

The album At the Soundless Dawn by Red Sparowes is fucking amazing. I listend to this shit like 3 times all the way through today.

Good looking out on telling me about them Smurf...I was feeling that Last Day of Icarus and Pelicans - Australasia as well.

I like Sigur Ros because I find their music relaxing/trippy. They are coming to Seattle in April so I am going to go see them live. I hear they put on a great show.

I picked up two Mogwai albums last week. Mr. Beast (their newest one) and Come On and Die Young. They are both fucking amazing. Deceptakhan if you haven't heard it already check out the song Glasgow Mega-Snake off of Mr. Beast. That song is sick as fuck.

Did you check out Explosions in the Sky? They are dope as fuck and more on the rock side. How about Pelican? Both are great bands.
