Walked around smoking weed drinking beer. Pretty much there were heavy amounts of police in pioneer square. Everyone pretty much went home or camped out in bars and things were dead by 5. We got a cool taxi driver tho we were smoking blunts and drinking on the way home lol

Michael Bennett wants to re-sign with Seahawks

Michael Bennett deserves to get paid for a dominant season that ended in a Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl championship.

The defensive end, coming off a one-year, $5 million contract, won't be cheap, but is on the record saying he wants to remain in the Upper Northwest.

"I want to be back here 100 percent. I love the team, I love my teammates," Bennett said Wednesday, per The Daily Herald in Everett, Wash. "Pete (Carroll) does a great job of letting us play, so I want to be a part of that. I know we can go back and win a Super Bowl again with all these guys. It's a business, but I definitely want to be back."

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said matter-of-factly on NFL Network's Super Bowl pregame show that the Seahawks would re-sign Bennett. The defensive end's comments back up that mutual belief.

The defensive end's brother, tight end Martellus Bennett, has publicly lobbied for Michael to join him with the Chicago Bears. Michael, however, prioritizes playing for Carroll over playing with his little brother.

"That doesn't matter much," Bennett said. "I know he wants me to come out there and get a chance to play with him, but I'm definitely a Seahawk and I definitely want to be here for the rest of my career."

The Seahawks benefitted from Russell Wilson's low contract number last season and have one more season until that number balloons. Contracts for Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman will also need to be addressed in the next 14 months.

At the end of the day, Bennett wants to stay in Seattle and the Seahawks want their premier pass rusher. However, when money starts talking, there is always that chance that the glimmer of the Super Bowl trophy could be forgotten.

Sidney Rice's days in Seattle are numbered.

The Seahawks are likely to part ways with the high-priced wide receiver in order to create salary-cap space to retain key free agents, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday's "NFL Total Access," per a source familiar with the Seahawks' thinking.

Rice is due $9.7 million in 2014 and his departure would create $7.3 million in cap savings, giving general manager John Schneider wiggle room to secure Golden Tate and Michael Bennett, the team's biggest free-agent priorities, per Rapoport.

Another option to create salary-cap room? Zach Miller. The team likely will approach the tight end with a request for Miller to take a pay cut, per Rapoport. The Seahawks would save $5 million under the cap if they cut Miller outright.

Losing either player wouldn't be a big blow to the Super Bowl champs. Rice has durability concerns: He played in just five games in 2013 and has appeared in all 16 games in a season only once (in 2012).

Miller has been a disappointment since coming over from Oakland before the 2011 season. He's been serviceable at best in Seattle, recording just 96 catches over three seasons with the 'Hawks.

The Seahawks would be wise to keep Tate and Bennett. Tate is one of the best punt returners in the game and has shown a knack for the big play. If Percy Harvin can stay healthy, Tate would serve as a solid No. 2 receiver in the Seahawks' passing attack.

Bennett was one of the best free-agent values in 2013. The pass rusher made just $4.8 million on a one-year deal and delivered with 8.5 sacks. Now, he's likely to be rewarded accordingly.

The Seahawks also will look to lock up both Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman this offseason. The All-Pro defensive backs' contracts expire at the end of the 2014 season.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirms the Seahawks are "likely" to ask TE Zach Miller to take a pay cut.

Miller has been one of GM John Schneider's few bad signings, catching just 96 passes in 45 games as a Seahawk. Coming off a 33/387/5 2013, Miller is due $5.8 million between salary and bonuses. There's a zero-percent chance he'll be back at that rate.

This is a dumb comment. You can only catch what is designed and actually thrown to you, accurately. Mufuqas expect him to run wideout patterns and snag it from his teammates or somethin? lmao dumb and not hannen

With that said is that type of production worth 5 mill? I say yes if his line game has been on point, no if it has not.
