There's definitely truth in that as well so when shit isn't going right, the team has injuries whatever, coaches have to scheme to figure out a way. Defense is a lot more simple though, there isn't a whole lot you can do differently to confuse the offensive to the point where you can suddenly dominate a team. You are who you are on defense, you play to your strengths and this year it wasn't good enough. Offensively though, that's a different story and that is where I'd love to have a real "offensive mind" running the offensive who can get creative, who can exploit weaknesses of the opponents defense, unlike Bevell who just lacks that extra creativity we see from the really good teams. Atalantas defense isn't amazing yet 13 points was the best Bevell could figure out until late in the 4th when they got an easier TD. But the thing is, didn't matter if it was Atlanta or San Francisco, Bevell just can't get this offense to put up big points and the only time this team scored into the 40s over the past several years (definitely didn't happen this year) was when the defense was getting tons of turnovers and scoring points or setting up easy TDs. With Baldwin, Jimmy, Wilson, Willson, Richardson (and Lockett when playing), etc., even with the shit offensive line i can guarantee GOOD offensive coordinators can get this very same offense to be a more consistent scoring team.
