Veteran center Chris Myers visiting the Seahawks
Veteran NFL center Chris Myers is visiting the Seattle Seahawks Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter has learned.
Myers, 33, is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2011, 2012) who started every game over the last seven seasons with the Houston Texans.
He was a sixth-round draft choice by the Denver Broncos in 2005 out of the University of Miami. Myers (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) was released by the Texans three weeks ago due to salary-cap implications. He was scheduled to count $8 million against Houston’s cap in 2015.
Pro Football Focus graded Myers the No. 3 run blocker among starting NFL centers last season.
The Seahawks have spoken to several free-agent centers as a potential replacement for Max Unger, who was traded to the New Orleans Saints in the deal that brought tight end Jimmy Graham to Seattle.
