i wonder whos going to play opposite Trufant now?? Jennings? Wilson? Lucas?

maybe Jennings
Kenny "Barbie Doll" Jennings? please no. if there is a more frail cornerback in the nfl i have yet to see him. like i said they shouldve never let Kenny Lucas go. if nothing else he wouldnt have had to get punched by mighty mouse and we couldve had an above average corner since then

well i dont know who'll best suit opposite Trufant. we have some nice CB's though. with Trufant, Jennings, Wilson, Babinouix, Lucas and Hobbs. just would like the preseason to get here already so that i would know who is going to play opposite Trufant.

heard on KJR today via Ian Furness that Mora said Lucas will be the starting CB opposite Trufant when their mini camp kicks off this weekend.

Seahawks, Hill agree to long-term deal

SEATTLE (AP)—The Seattle Seahawks and starting outside linebacker Leroy Hill have reached agreement on six-year contract worth a guaranteed $15.5 million.

The deal could potentially be worth $38 million.

Hill became a free agent last weekend after the team dropped its franchise tag on him and Hill refused to sign an $8.3 million tender offer.

The Seahawks said in a news release Thursday evening only that the team and Hill had “agreed to terms to a multiyear deal.” The dollar figures were confirmed by a person close to the situation who requested anonymity because the terms were not made public.

Hill and the Seahawks were held up for days over contract language provisions related to any possible league discipline Hill may face from an offseason arrest in January in Georgia for misdemeanor marijuana possession.

then again its worth not loosing him.
I would have been OK with it. Leroy has never been to the probowl and has records 7.5 sacks in his rookie year, thats it. Granted, he was out of position (playing SLB as opposed to WLB). This year, if they are smart, they will let him play his natural position and allow him to rush the QB more.

Just an FYI, he is gettin paid Lance Brigg's money....too much for him at this point IMO.

Dont get me wrong, I agree with you that he got to much money, I just don't see who they are going to replace him with. Unfortunately with free agency, some other team is going to pay that much for him, or the Hawks are going to have to pay some other LB the same amount of money. No matter what they would of had to pay that amount of money, or be left out in the cold and have a rookie or second stringer take his place.

DD Lewis has been a heck of a backup and could very have started. With the other upgrades on defense, the emphasis wouldnt have to be burdened to our LB core. Had we let Hill walk, we coudl have used the cap space on DB's, something we could always use an upgrade on.

Unfortunately with free agency, some other team is going to pay that much for him, or the Hawks are going to have to pay some other LB the same amount of money.
Well, thats just it...NO ONE wanted to pay Hill that money, as the teams that we stated to be interested, really weren't....his agent is a slimy liar just like most of them are. The Hawks were obviously the ONLY ones willing to dish out that kind of money. They should have offered him LESS for being such a bonehead in the first damn place.

No matter what they would of had to pay that amount of money, or be left out in the cold and have a rookie or second stringer take his place.
And I still would have been OK with that. We have a slew of LB's waiting to get on the field. We could have put Hawthorne to the test this year.

I'm not MAD we kept Hill, im just mad that we had to pay out that much to him.

DD Lewis is old and pretty much prone to injury. he is an alright LB though. but i think Hill is much more better then him. the Seahawks may have over paid Hill, but i'm still glad he's still on the squad. hopefully this season he'll prove he's worth that much.
