If a rapper says "nigga" in his lyrics, I see no reason why he can't say "wetback". Especially since some Mexican/Latino rappers that I have heard say "nigga" in their lyrics more than black people.

there is no positive way of saying wetback. i clown with some homeboys and call them wetbacks, but its not like i say "whats up wetback" the same way you say "whats up nigga." its a derogatory word and the meaning has not changed unlike nigger/nigga. theres places where theres alot of black and brown tension like southern cali so little things like this just instigate situations.

oh yeah, i wonder what people would be saying if some mexican rapper from southern cali had a verse like scarface "had you locked up with the niggers?" it would cause alot more ruckus like Wicked said. i think among mainstream society its more acceptable to disrespect mexicans than it is to disrespect blacks.

The term wetback comes from mexicans who come into the United States after crossing the rio grande. Maybe puerto ricans and cubans are labeled that now, but it was originally meant for mexicans or any other hispanic that came through mexico into the united states that way.
