Food resources and living space are scarce for billions of people all over the world. That you don't seem them does not mean they do not exist.

Your problem tohugh is much more fundamental - you seem to don't understand the very basics of ecological overshoot and how there is time lag between entering overshoot and collapse. This graph should illustrate it for you (red line is population):

I assume that the best data is compiled by the UN. They made no assertions about overpopulation in the summary or anywhere in their extensive analysis. If anyone here knows of any other body of information compiled more scientifically than the UN, I think we should consider that. Until then, I'm riding with the UN's numbers...which again, don't lead them to the conclusion that we are over carrying capacity.

Living space and food are dirt cheap, literally. There is global food surplus. There is also obviously a global surplus in habitable living space as well.
