The Oakland Raiders stepped forward Thursday on the eve of free agency and signed Tommy Kelly to the largest contract ever given to a defensive tackle.
Kelly, a defensive end scheduled to move to defensive tackle this season, signed a seven-year, $50.5 million contract Thursday that has $18.125 million in guarantees. In the first three years of the deal, he will make $25.125 million.

everybody knows there is probably not going to be a salary cap next year right? So you know al, jerry, snyder, and all the big spending owners are not gonna have a problem spending or "overspending" for top notch players. So seymour (if he performs) will get that extension with no problem and al will go out and spend as much cash as he has to in order to win. Thats another reason he got rid of the draft pick so just in case he doesnt have to pay a high unproven draft pick a ridiculous amount of cash when he can use that money to get a proven veteran.
you know that just because you pay over the hill players hella money it doesnt equal wins right? i mean perfect example oakland raidturds are dishing out the highest amount a year in the NFL at 155 million per season. Only to end up with 5 wins and 11 losses. So i wouldnt be too excited about their being no salary cap.
