are you trying to say that the survival horror genre is obsolete now?
As the original "fixed camera, clunky controls, backtrack puzzling" genre that it was, yes. I think RE has evolved very well over the years.

Myabe so, but SR2>GTA4.
I agree with that (mostly), but it took 4 GTA's before anyone could even come close to it, and technically speaking there would be no Saints Row if it weren't for GTA in the first place.

What new genre did the creators of GTA invent? Sand box games didn't originate with GTA. But for the sake of argument let us assume that it did, how/why does that mean a GTA game should get a 10?
Really? Do I need to answer that? Show me any game before GTA 3 that could even touch it. Most "sandbox" games back then were open cities, but you couldn't leave a car. And frankly, Rockstar had already been making incredible open world sandbox titles with GTA on the PC.

When things like Saints Row or Crackdown come out, people immediately compare it to GTA. Micheal Jordan didn't invent basketball, but he came in, dominated, and innovated the sport so much that to this day people are still comparing players to him.

Yes you do. What genre did the GTA series create? These are still sandbox games no matter how you slice it.

Most "sandbox" games back then were open cities, but you couldn't leave a car. And frankly, Rockstar had already been making incredible open world sandbox titles with GTA on the PC.
Adding a new feature like getting out of a car, or raping a hooker, isn't creating a new genre--it's still a sandbox title. GTA & Rockstar may have refined or revolutionized the sandbox genre, but they in no way created the genre.

When things like Saints Row or Crackdown come out, people immediately compare it to GTA. Micheal Jordan didn't invent basketball, but he came in, dominated, and innovated the sport so much that to this day people are still comparing players to him.
Yeah, but see you said, "GTA invented a whole new genre of video game that didn't exist" (bold and underlined emphasis mine). I'm not saying they haven't done well with refining the genre. They took the ball and ran with it just like Epic took Kill Switch and Winback and came up with Gears.

lol i punched a woman and a bunch of dudes came to her safety.

its alright. i enjoy the driving in the game alot more than i did in san andreas

You're being irrational. GTA3 deserved a 10 any way you look at it. I don't know if you're horrible at it and you have your panties in a bunch about the game, or what. I'm still trying to figure out what came before the first GTA's from PC, and exactly what game was out that was anything like GTA3 at the time.

That was a driving game. GTA isn't a driving game. I see what you're saying and I was actually thinkin about that too, but besides the fact that everyone hated that game, if you left your car, essentially you lost. I can't justify comparing a driving game to an open world like GTA.
