But there needs to be like stations for Underground artists
It's called college radio.

Wake up people. The industry has its standards of what they want their TV artists to present themselves as, and in the past 20 yrs every artist that wanted to be on TV has had to reform themselves to fit that image.
Well... I'm just curious. Does that apply to rock bands too? Because I can think of a few bands that didn't really change at all, and the best one that comes to mind is probably Nirvana. Manson also isn't really your run of the mill "Top 40" radio type shit but he was fuckin' HUGE on MTV for like 5 years. What about System of a Down?

I'm not saying that rock on MTV is the same as rap on MTV, but I'm pretty sure with any major label behind you, you're going to get at least one play at 3 in the morning if not more.

Tech needs a good video man.
It's pointless to spend money on a good video if you know flat out it's not gonna get past YouTube. ex: Slacker

They all are scared of Tech and Strange Music but that will all change this year
That's what peeps were saying 5 years ago.

First off, whoever tried to compare Brooke Hogans video to Techs is fuckin retarded. FIRST OFF, who the FUCK would of even know of Brooke Hogan if she wasnt Hulk Hogan's (who is the greatest wrestler of all time) daughter? Not a damn person, nor would Scott Storch EVER produce a song for her this early if it wasnt for Hogan callin him and makin it happen. She has HELLLLLA money to back her videos and to get people like Paul Wall n shit in her video, which Tech DOES NOT...

Secondly, YES fuckin with people like Prozack and PDM is not only gonna do nothing to help Techs career but its will bring it down. People pay attention to who you group yourself with and that group is not what is going to attract main stream I dont give a fuck what you say. Tech can have love for everyone and all that, but the fact remains if people know those are the type of people Tech fuck with, they will do nothing but keep him down. PDM WILL NEVER BE ON MTV....

And 3rdly the fact that Tum Tum is gettin all this exposure over Tech even further proves the points I just made. It doesnt matter how good your shit is or whether or not the "people" wanna hear you, it all matter on whether you have the "image" main stream people wanna hear and that you have a hook that everyone can sing with in the clubs. Go to Kube93.com and look at the playlist they have for their station, I gaurentee you can sing along with everyone of the choruses but prob couldnt recite more that 1 verse of the song. Think im bullshittin? Go check it out...

The fact will always remain as it always has, as long as Tech keeps dealing with the people he is dealing with and doesnt change the way he is, which I DO NOT want him to, but mainstream will never accept him for the way he is now bottom line... They are too scared... If they were, they would of done it already.

Wake up people. The industry has its standards of what they want their TV artists to present themselves as, and in the past 20 yrs every artist that wanted to be on TV has had to reform themselves to fit that image. You think the ENTIRE mainstream music industry is gonna change the way they want music over Tech N9ne? SERIOUSLY? He is great and all, but you will never see the headline "Tech N9ne doesnt go mainstream, mainstream goes Tech N9ne".... NEVER will fuckin see that. I love Tech and all but c'mon think realisticly. Either Tech will have to pussy out and go hip hop, or he will stay true Tech and remain underground for the rest of his days. Which isnt necessarly a bad thing. He is still makin good money. Look at Brotha Lynch, he is one of the biggest names in Rap, aint never had a vid on MTV or BEt tho...

ONE
I think Manson......didn't have to change anything about himself and he was on MTV like fucking crazy......

Chamillionaire wasnt shit for a while just on the same level as tech cuz i always followed both closely. And he didnt change shit to blow up (although two totally different images)....it can be done there is plenty of people that have done.

He could blow up but i doubt he ever will....simple as that most people just dont feel his music as hard as it is for us to believe.

I just said that.

Yeah, but don't forget that they used to play Beavis and Butt-Head back in the day too. Oh, and actually used play MUSIC on MTV too. What's MTV today?? A preppy ass rich teenager's biggest orgy.
This point doesn't really fit in with what we're talking about. It's not as if MTV was playing any other acts like Manson at the time that Beavis and Butthead was on, other than on Headbangers Ball. Manson leaked into the mainstream because people said "this shit is fuckin' hot", pretty much. Rap acts like 50 aren't exactly your Abercrombie & Fitch mainstream cookie-cutter bullshit but they sell. Eminem has a "gimmick" of sorts by being white and discovered by Dre, but his lyrical content wasn't exactly commercial at the time.

Anyway my point is that you can break the mainstream and still be "yourself", whatever that may be. You can say ICP isn't "mainstream", but ask someone if they like them or not and noody is going to say "who the fuck is ICP?"

I don't give a fuck what label name you have on the back of your cd, if people know what the fuck you're about, you're mainstream

He might as well these days...

But just because you have a "fuck the industry" attitude, the labels, (And I hope just about everyone else), know that the whole FTI thing was/is a marketing campaign. If you put so much into the FTI thing, then I can't wait to read your excuse as to why Tech didn't "sell out" when he finally decides it's time to sign to a label in one way or another.
