As of 1992, right turn on red is governed federally by 42 U.S.C. § 6322(c) ("Each proposed State energy conservation plan to be eligible for Federal assistance under this part shall include: ...(5) a traffic law or regulation which, to the maximum extent practicable consistent with safety, permits the operator of a motor vehicle to turn such vehicle right at a red stop light after stopping, and to turn such vehicle left from a one-way street onto a one-way street at a red light after stopping.")

I got one a few years ago in oakland. wasnt used to having the light on the sidewalk instead of above the intersection. never payed it. havent heard about it since the first letter they sent with the pictures.

Iv been pulled over in Oregon since. Not in cali though where i got the red light ticket.

I did select to take traffic school to get it off my record, and have never received anything in the mail about traffic school since then... kinda just reminded me of that shit now

I heard you can get some Saran wrap type of shit that you can cover your license with and the flash will get reflected and not show up on camera. Look it up on the webz. Not that i advocate running reds especially since i ride a moped and i coukd get killed pretty easy at an intersection. you are correct

but now its being enforced unlike before when you could easily coast thru a red light if you were makin a right

times change i guess...but there was some new legislation about the whole right turn thing, either way my mistake

i got one and paid it like a dumbass without knowing i could just never acknowledge i received the ticket and ignore it and itd disapeer after a year

once you go to their site and look up your ticket you're basically acknowledging you know about the ticket = youre screwed

i got stuck behind some dork in downtown seattle going like 15 mph instead of 30-35 and he brake checked me right before the yellow light, then i zoomed through as it was turning red = ticket

Don't respond to the letter, at all. First they can't prove you even go it unless you are served and that isn't going to happen. Second most cities use third party companies for red light cameras and they hold no weight in court unless you admit it was you.
