Funeral_For_a_Friend-Beneath_the_Burning_Tree-(Promo_cds)-2008

1. Beneath The Burning Tree (3:36)
2. Waterfront Dance Club (4:24)

http://sharebee.com/75e7fc57

Their last album was not very good. A prime example of why I download music before I pay for it. Everything before that was awesome. The first song sounds like something off of Tales Don't Tell Themselves but the second, Waterfront Dance Club, is very promising!

They jokingly call themselves "Goth-country."

Great band.

I don't get what you mean with the names? Just that they sound/look similar?

If I remember right they got their name from a traditional North Carolina folk song.

Opeth's name is derived from the word "Opet" taken from a Wilbur Smith novel and means "city of the moon."

So I really don't think they were trying to make them sound/look the same in anyway on purpose.

Make sure you get their other album called Head Home too. I think it's on Sordo. If not I can up it sometime tommorow seeing it's my day off.

I guess they have one before that on CD-R that they gave to friends and at their first concerts but I can't find a link to it anywhere.

I'm off of work in like 20-30 mins and I'm downloading this when I get home.

don't know where else to post this, but I talked to Casey C. a little while ago and he told me Act 3 will be out in spring of next year and Anthony Green was supposed to do Avalon with him but "ditched him" and never gave him the call to produce the album... So in closing Avalon probably would've been at least 7 times better than it was.

Less gossip, more music postin'.

lol

Nah, that's crazy and you are right it probably would have been better. I still like it even though it's all over the place.

By the way this thread is almost to 100 pages and over 1/3 of the posts are by me lol.

I found that funny.

@ Jake - Yeah their drummer is dope. They are like a mix of noise rock, grunge, some hardcore, a little garage rock, spoken/sung lyrics. Really great stuff...I can listen to it all the way through. Only complaint is it seems like the album is over right when I really get into it. But then I just listen to it again.

*edit* ment garage rock and typed shoegaze by accident. Could you really get anymore different? lol
