1) They need cap room before they bring in some big name moves
2) It's the Raidres vs Broncos....Shanny owns Al
3) Raiders have way to many holes that need to be fixed that will take more than 1 year and more then the cap room they have right now.

I dont follow college much but I dont remember the guy being a top 5 prospect until that bowl game. He may have good physical size and skills but is he a leader? For some reason I just cant picture Al Davis drafting a QB with the #1 pick.
I dont think Im sold on any player in this draft being a lock at #1 tho..thats why Im still in favor of trading down a couple spots and getting as many extra picks as possible. I want Peterson or Lynch.

Peterson wouldn't be a bad pick... he can run the ball. But what's going to happen when teams crowd the line of scrimmage and bring that eigth man down in the box to stop him?

With Russell teams won't be able to crowd the line of scrimmage. They'd be asking for trouble.

I hear you mayne..... I am pretty much sold on Russell. We'll see what happens though. Getting a new head coach and Russell might convince Randy to stay. Randy is still a threat in this league. He's still fast and will command double teams. That means one on one coverage for the other receivers.
