I agree with Oso.
Back in the day, we used to bang against cities around us and it always kept us on our toes. Being we were from Sunnyvale, we had funk with Mountain View, Santa Clara, Alviso, etc. We even beefed with other sets of our own town. This was back in the late 80's and early 90's, I'm 36 now and things are much different.
I think too much Norteno love has given too many of these young bucks a false sense of security. Walking around just worrying about some vato in blue, when back in the day, if the dude wasn't from your hood you had to watch your back regardless of what color he wore. Now you see anybody with a red belt on you feel safe, as you should but that also makes them complacent.
Norte unity can be an almighty uniting force when done right, but it can also hide the weaker members as they just lag behind in the pack and use the pack as a mirage for their willingness to put in work.
