Why did they use buttons?

I'm guessing because the non-buttons they currently use can fail or malfunction (not that common but it can happen). At least I know of a couple friends that broke. Buttons cant fail

I was going by the 299 euro number which is all I saw, good lookin. Europeans would end up paying over $400 american for this.

It does look generic, and square shaped eh.... the original PS3 looks sleek. Im sticking with my model, includes flash memory card slots and PS2 backwards compatibility. when i want more storage i will look into swapping out the HD.
