Sony usually release a smaller version of a console only after theyve released a next generation one.....they should just cut the price. i like the big beefy PS3 how it is now

I read a slim PS3 was comin' soon as well and from whut I've read there was a pre-order on Germany's amazon.com site; however, that got pulled shortly after it was put up and nothin' has popped up since. It probably will happen eventually but I doubt this year. I could see a price drop happenin' this holiday season but a $100 would be some shit.

the pre order on germany's amazon was made by some kid. but im pretty sure the ps3 slim is coming. sony has a 3 hour press conference on aug 18th and then another one at the end of sept. somethin is up. im pretty sure its gonna happen this year. within 3 months. have u not seen the pics?

As far as i know sony denied this statement at the E3 event, they did confirm that they are finally making money on the PS3 they have cut production cost by almost 70%, `old hardware gets cheaper duhh` anyways when the ps3 drops to about 150$ i might consider it for the bluray player, but when it comes to graphics or what ever i already got a xbox360 so why get a ps3 they are both good machines xbox was cheaper to buy that was the only reason for me personally.

^^^ I payed $300 for that bundle, new, sealed and in the box. I was trying to hold out for the slim, but I don't want to be a beta tester for them, so I'll keep the model I have and cop a slim further down the road if I need/want to.

And dammit I haven't even had time to play the ps3.

yeah i seen a few unopened ones posted on craigslist for $330 and $350

wondering if its worth it...i dont see why not, its even cheaper than the $100 price drop people are talking about

Like I said, I was gonna wait but the price was on point and Im not trying to beta test for Sony right now. Maybe a year or two after the slim is released and they are on revision c or d, but right now I'm cool. But, I do know the CE for LBP is coming or has hit the shelves, so thats a must buy.

Are the older ps3's that play ps2 games worth more?

I got the 60gig ps3 that still plays ps2 games along with COD:WAW, 2controlers, 2chargers, wireless headset, fullmetal jacket blu-ray, and american physco blu-ray lol.. I also got like 6 other lame ass blu rays i'am gonna go trade in.. First it was gonna be $325 for it all.. Then since the HDMI was missing i told him i'm only gonna pay him $300.. So far i've paid 'em $220 and it's been like a month lol.. He said he wasn't trippin off payments so w/e.

I hope i got a good deal and i'am not gonna be regrettin it after this price drop or w/e.
