Microsoft is a disease to the gaming community.

Ever since the xbox360 came out, gaming has become less about how good the games can be made, and more about how quickly they can be rushed out along with DLC to maximise consumer spending.

Oh it's great for them, but not so good for me and you as gamers.

Imagine how many great features are being left out of games just so that they can be released as DLC later. An example is the upcoming DLC for skyrim which features crossbows as a new weapon. you'd think they'd have thought of the idea way before skyrim itself was released as it seems such an obvious choice of weapon to include in the game. fact is the idea of crossbows probably did come up during the design process but they decided to hold on to it for DLC. the result? we missed out on a cool weapon in our game (unless we purchase the add on pack)

This whole culture of selling customers half a game and making them pay to unlock the rest of the features (SF vs TEKKEN), is fuelled and encouraged by platforms which are willing to shell out millions of $ to developers just so they can have the DLC exclusive to their console first. In turn, the hype surrounding the DLC drives many gamers to purchase and we see ourselves falling into a downward spiral of diminishing quality and extortionate practices regarding products we have already paid for and own.

EA games and infinity ward seem to be the kings of these extortionate practices, which is why i dont support them.

its hard though, one of my best friends wants me to play bf3 with him on the ps3, i might have to cave in and buy the game. plus around the time it was being hyped up i was considering getting it because i loved bf2
