ThaG how did your schooling get paid for? Mom and Dad? Did you work?
None of these.

In case you did not know one of the greatest achievements of communism was the free, required for all, and high quality on top of that, education. As far as university education goes, you probably also don't know that the better the university you go to, the less you pay if you can't afford it (assuming you can get in of ocurse), to the point where it is essentially free at the very best schools

At what level? Some schools will let you ride free if you are going for your masters and above to up the schools "prestige".

What exactly do you refer to? I didn't get your question
Dont some schools actually ALLOW sutdents getting their Masters do attend THEIR school at NO cost (tuition-forgiveness), becuase it boosts the prestige of the school up? More students studying their masters/PhD = higher rank among school academics.

I have a friend who is doing post-graduate schooling and school's are wanting her to go to them for no other purposes other than she is getting the highest degree she can. Michigan and the UW are two of the school offering these to her...

I don't think it is necessarily just at the graduate level. From my experience out of HS, I knew 2 people who went to Stanford, 1 to MIT, 1 to NYU, 1 to Harvard, and more all on full rides because of their performance in HS.

I think ThaG is talking about the "better universitys" with large endowments such has Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Columbia, etc

I guess i was referring to a non-shacolarship situation. They dont even offer a schalorship to you...they basically just invite you in and let you do what ever it is you need to do.

I dont know all the symantecs of it...

exactly, if your gonna get capped then you might as well fight back and go out on your feet.

But then again they dont have to be up front about it. You can be dooped into a camp and not know until its too late.

there is no such thing as a scholarship at those places, you get "Financial Aid" which basically means that you don't pay certain portion of the tuition (from small part of it to all of it, depending on your financial situation)

Right now it is basically a complete myth that Ivy League education is for the rich only
