Rihanna beating update! Law enforcement told TMZ that Rihanna's injuries were severe, two 'huge contusions' which swelled up on both sides of her forehead and 'a bloody lip and nose.' Chris Brown has been booked on a
felony criminal threats charge.
If the DA files the case, domestic violence charges could be added. According to E! Online, Rihanna made the 911 call to police after Brown 'fled on foot' from the scene following the attack. Two officers from the LAPD Wilshire Division found Rihanna in Brown's rented silver Lamborghini 'beaten really badly and hysterical.'
Brown had taken the keys to the car with him and Rihanna was basically left on the side of the road with the car. 'Rihanna didn't want anyone to touch her, she was in so much pain.' Officers took her to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.
A member of Rihanna's inner circle tells E! News her family is making plans to get her out of LA: 'They want to get her back to Barbados. They want to keep her away from Chris right now.'
Although the LAPD issued a statement Sunday night saying Brown had been arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and could face additional charges now that the case had been forwarded to the district attorney.
DA spokeswoman: 'LAPD are telling some reporters that we received the evidence but we have not received anything yet. Normally it would come in today, maybe this afternoon, but no, they haven't presented it and I don't know when they will.'

R&B star Rihanna is cooperating with investigators building a domestic violence case against her boyfriend, the singer Chris Brown, a police source said today.
The source said the 20-year-old performer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is providing “ongoing” cooperation with detectives who booked Brown on Sunday on suspicion of making criminal threats against her.
An early-morning altercation with Brown following a pre-Grammy Awards party left Rihanna with bruises and a scratch to her face, according to police sources. Her injuries were treated at a “major medical facility,” a police source said.
Brown, a 19-year-old with a double-platinum record and dance moves frequently compared to those of Michael Jackson, had fled before officers arrived, police said.
He remained free on $50,000 bail, but neither he nor his attorney would speak about allegations that rocked the Grammys ceremony. Both Brown and Rihanna were nominated, but neither attended the ceremony.
The fight occurred after midnight on a quiet block in Hancock Park, where Brown had stopped a rented Lamborghini he was driving. According to police, several people saw or heard a loud, violent confrontation. The luxury car was impounded because the alleged assault may have begun in the vehicle, a police source said.
