Threads like this show why SD will never be a factor in Hip Hop in a major way. The nigga leading the way is in his mid to late 30's STILL TALKIN ABOUT GANG SHIT!!!! If you are still worried about "gang politics" in your 30's you have missed the point. Grow the fuck up!!!!!!

Then you have a "legend" that got his feelings hurt because he wasn't mentioned on the radio by a cat from a rival gang/neighborhood/area. Had the opportunity to do a song with the guy but, on his own admission, passed on it.

Bottom line is this.

One dude raps in a nasal tone like he has fuckin sinus infection and super high pitched like his nuts aint dropped. The other is the spitting image of Jabba the Hut.

You cant sell EITHER of them to the masses. They might as well get with Jayo and form a group that will move 17,000 units(locally), break up after the project flops(big surprise) and do a locally produced underground reality TV show documenting the whole thing. Call the show "Red(ESP) and Blue(NHC) doesn't make Green(LPB)".

Sorry fellas. Y'all missed the boat by about 15 years. And dont get mad at me for tellin the TRUTH and saying what a lot of y'all have been thinking for a while. If Mike Jones could move major units but Dago can't...... IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN HERE. If Soulja Boy can move major units but dago can't..... IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN HERE.

Now go and get REAL JOBS and leave the rap shit to cities whose Hip Hop fans will get behind the artists and support the movement. SD is too divided for any rapper to succeed. If you've been in the game for 15+ years and STILL have to sell your product at Swap Meets and "out da trunk".........IT'S OVER!!!!!

Well,

- Gang Politics do play a part in real life of many people. (maybe not in yours)
- what does going mainstream have to do with this? majority of hip hop is underground and some of the best talent gets overlooked.
- So you analyze Mitchy Slick and Big June.. yet you bring up Soulja Boy and Mike Jones? Chek ya ears because there is a huge difference in talent. The underground being better. Also chek ya eyes because those pictures dont match.
- chek your drink, like the homey said, sounds like you be sippin the haterade tryna clown SD and its talent.
- I dont think you have ever struggled or grind to make something happen.. bekuz this is what it really is about. regardless of how long. If shit was garbage, people wouldnt be in here pushing it and people would agree with your hater comments.
- Every city is divided doesnt mean someone cant succeed. NY is divided, yet it still produces some great music.

Truth is you are part of the jealous fellas. Just wanna blap about shit knowing nobody here agrees wit you. Just wanna criticize with tunnel vision.

Gang Politics do play a part in real life of many people. (maybe not in yours)
Black men don't have time for "gang politics". We have a black man in the White House who has raised the bar for all of us. So maybe we should focus on "real" politics. Who better to help these young cats recognize that than the people with a platform but, what do they do? They make fuckin' posts about PIRUS?!?!?!?!

what does going mainstream have to do with this? majority of hip hop is underground and some of the best talent gets overlooked.
That's exactly my point. Dago will constantly get overlooked because: a) there's only a 5% black population and that doesn't lend itself to a MAJOR Hip Hop scene. b) of that 5% how many are Hip Hop music consumers? Barely any(in the grand scheme of creating a movement)!!!! c) what little consumers you have for the market are divided over a 20+ year gang feud d) all of this is WHY the talent here will STAY overlooked.

So you analyze Mitchy Slick and Big June.. yet you bring up Soulja Boy and Mike Jones? Chek ya ears because there is a huge difference in talent. The underground being better. Also chek ya eyes because those pictures dont match.
You're making my points for me, Chief. In my estimation Mitch and June are head and shoulders above those 2 in the talent department but, if THEY(Soulja Boy & Mike Jones) can make the impact they made with damn near ZERO talent, then the problem isn't TALENT. It's lack of support to build the movement and generate buzz. And if you think the pictures don't match, it's YOUR eyes that need checkin.

chek your drink, like the homey said, sounds like you be sippin the haterade tryna clown SD and its talent.
No hate, tryin to motivate. Whatever SD has been doing top push it's artists to the next level CLEARLY hasn't worked. So if my words "struck a nerve" and Mitch and June REALLY want that next level cake and use my opinions as motivation, the city will have me to thank. Obviously telling Mitch and June how tight they are on a damn message board hasn't pushed "their own" project to Gold or Platinum status.

I dont think you have ever struggled or grind to make something happen.. bekuz this is what it really is about. regardless of how long. If shit was garbage, people wouldnt be in here pushing it and people would agree with your hater comments.
You don't know what I've done or what record companies I've worked for(and currently work for). My problem isn't with the talent level...it's there. My problem is with what YOU just wrote. "people wouldnt be in here pushing it". What is being pushed "in here" is further instigation of a gang situation that is older than a lot of the cats that post "in here". How can that be helpful? When you know the demographic as well as I do, you know that Mitch is pulling a Plaxico. He's shooting his own self in the leg UNNECESSARILY!!!!

Every city is divided doesnt mean someone cant succeed. NY is divided, yet it still produces some great music.
NY can be divided. There are over 10 million people there. NEVER compare SD to NY when Hip Hop is involved. It's the Mecca. And don't be mad at me for saying it....it's just the facts.

Truth is you are part of the jealous fellas. Just wanna blap about shit knowing nobody here agrees wit you. Just wanna criticize with tunnel vision.
If you only knew how much I want to see success in this region...

It's not me with tunnel vision. It's all of the people that can't get past the PAST. Tunnel vision is red, green and blue rags in 2009!!!!! I understand the anger we had back in the 70's after the Panthers got torn apart. But if, in 2009, you still don't understand that the gang shit keeps you as a "pawn".... then you don't deserve anything better. We CANNOT have 35+ year old men rappin about "COLORS" anymore. If you didn't get on that bus back in '88 thru '97 you missed out on the money that came with it. Unfortunately the whole world had to witness how REAL and ACTIVE California niggas are when Pac and Biggie took this West Coast shit a little too lightly and they paid for it.

Snoop had to make "Beautiful" and "Sensual Seduction"... and alot of money. 50 had to make "Candy Shop"... and a lot of money. Cube makes family movies... and alot of money.

Mitch makes threads titled "PIRUS".

And y'all are mad at ME?!?!?!?!

My man......you're in Nebraska. The sheer stupidity of taking gang activity to the Cornhusker state is BEYOND assinine.

But I digress. To your point about my feeling Dago "aint gon blow"...if it continues on the path it's headed IT WONT. It takes a person with enough balls to recognize that and SAY something about it rather than just saying "Who is the tightest rapper out of Dago: Mitchy, Jayo, Big June or Damu?" That shit keeps these cats STAGNANT!!!!!

It's not for YOU to know who I am. That doesn't make EITHER of us any money. Does it? When the time, content and mentality is right, I want to make sure the WORLD knows who Dago MC's are. It would be a fuckin waste if the only people that REALLY appreciated them were the people here. That type of shit is cheatin them out of SHINE and MONEY. But it seems like they aint ready to let the past go.

Oh well.

sonny crack -

you wanna see the region succeed? Then quit pushin your bullshit agenda. Only reason why people are mad at you bekuz you are the one instigating shit.

talking about the artists and making bullshit comparisons. The fuk outta here.

Only reason why I responded is because I DO HAVE RESPECT FOR MITCHY SLICK AND BIG JUNE.

While you put them down, try to clown.. and bring up Soulja boy? Mike Jones?

Black men dont have time for Gang politics? Obviously you dont have a grip on reality. But that's why people are in this thread TRYNA get some to happen. Read Sonny Bo's post.

WE ARE TRYING TO PUSH ASIDE GANG POLITICS. (Atleast I am) So katz can work together to make music.

But you are on that "YALL NEED TO GIVE UP".

The fuk outta here. Someone ban this dude.
