I work wid hella nurses that make 55-80 bucks an hour, and they always flossin something new or fancy. Always wanna go out and eat. I just sit at home and cook my own damn food. I drive my 90' Infiniti M30 I picked up for $100 bucks and park next to their 08 BMW (I am not kidding).

Whenever we all have some get together events, I always set up hikes (free) while some them want to set up some trip to Grand Canyon ($400 trip).

they had a christmas dinner and plates were $100 per person, I didnt go because I dont wanna spend that money for shit I probably dont like.

I just care about payin bills, and saving up for shit. Other than that I've been down to get my hand dirty. I get by with my job, but I still wake up early to work at Labor Ready. I worked 3 days at Toys R Us for a christmas.. Just because I like to have just abit of cash. Now I got a second job being offered at another hospital, which i will take up. But I'm still a regular kat... and I think that trips them out that I still dont mind working "lesser jobs". I tell them I'm from that background, I know what its like to grind and bust ass for little money. Getting dirty or grease and being burnt out for that 9.00 bucks an hour.

But if you have that understanding, You'll always be on top IMO. Just because you can work other jobs. Some of these people I work with never had another job.... so they find it weird when I tell them I gotta work 3 days doing construction or roofing or some carpentry.

I see a few people complain about working there, and when they ask me, I tell them I'm just glad to have a good paying job. Hands down.

Good shit fam.....Keep hustlin and do what you do.....I understand about the nurse's mane.....My wife is one and just got offered a job making 108k a year.....She wanted a BMW......But i sold cars for three years and talked her out of it and we got a honda instead.........Nurses make big cheese and always have work.......Fuck all that 100$ a plate status shit........Keep saving your money....You never know what could happen...

With all the people i work with, its a trip.

One nurse told me that its good that I am fruggle with my money. Dont get me wrong, I spend too, I buy stuff, I try to enjoy my life, but I aint on that spend hella money shit.

I dont think any of them have ever been in that situation or have felt like walking on egg shells at work.

and most of them didnt really pay attention to this because it doesnt effect them. they got a solid job, make bank, go out and buy shit, eat at good resturants....

I remember one of my homegirls was like, you act like you broke all the time. I tell her hell yeah. 100 bucks to eat is outlandish for me.

But what I tell that is that my value of the dollar is higher. $20 bucks aint shit to them, but to me, its still $20 bucks.
---------------------------------------------

Truth is, even though first concern is myself, I feel for everyone suffering. I dont wanna see anyone lose their house or lose their jobs. Sucks. I hate to see all these stores close up, just because I know that's how many people outta work.

I know alot of people that have been financially hurt because of whats going on. Even people that have been able to keep their jobs, they get a salary freeze.

There are alot of politics at my work, and when we converse about it, I always say, I aint trippin, I gotta job, so I aint complaining.
--------------------

there was another thread in here and people were saying "we should do nothing, obama should not bail out anything".

and I felt that was just dumb to say. Nothing is perfect and I feel that Obama stepping in to help out is a good thing.

The gov. should do anything? Well all these people lose jobs, livelihoods, houses, bills pile up, etc.. who are they gonna blame for this mess?

Dude brought up, we cant spend our way outta debt, well, it sucks, but it happens. And with Obama trying to make jobs (which dude said was bad) its not like temp jobs, its jobs to make our nation more efficient, and other jobs for a new future of America. Its putting people to work. We had to do this with WWI, the industrial revolution and even the internet. yeah, with the internet the bubble bursted too, but the fact remains that alot of people kept jobs, the internet is RELEVENT and its still being worked on and improved.

It just sucks right now, and not just in the US. I mean world wide.

I am making the same money no effect... but I know people effected by the housing market, construction is down, so everything construction related is getting cut back.

Jobs are being cut.. hopefully things will turn around soon.

military is a good option, if you want to pursue it.

2 of my buddies (brothers) were doing National Guard, and working for a manufacturing company for a bit. they bought a house for $170,000.
Then the company got bought out by a fortune 500 company and shit started to change. I moved on, but my homies stayed there until they were laid off, so they ended up going military full time. They are both in Iraq for a bit.

401k went through the ringer, overtime got cut down a bit but it's going back up finally. I had a harder 3 or 4 months. Can't say it was as bad as many folks, just thankful for having a job, apartment, car, and most important the family.

i lost my job last year, and my dad lost his job in 2007, my family got evicted and we had to find a new place, and we werent sure if we were gonna be able to afford a new place. luckily we found a new place, but right when we found one, all of our cars died except my moms saturn, and we couldnt fit any furniture in that really. we had to get everything out of our house and into the other house as soon as possible before both places charged us rent for the same month, but with no money and no vehicles, that shit was almost impossible. luckily we found friends that helped us out. me and my dad are still unemployed, my moms been paying most of the bills, whatever money she has leftover goes to her plane tickets to chicago because her mom is sick with cancer. my dad gets 1000 a month for dissability. im hella broke, ive been living off some saved up quarters for about 8 months now, i eat what i can and try not to spend money on anything, i try never to use the car. i got a good feeling that things are gonna get better in 2009 for me though, i think 2008 was just CURSED!!!

I work at Sysco as a night warehouse selector currently, and it's working out pretty well. Like Roger said, it def. puts a toll on your body, though I'm also more ripped than I've been in my life...so...who knows.

motherfuckers gotta eat!
