Yo, shit is gettin harder. Who do you think is gonna get a job, someone that has been in working/clean record/experience or someone with the opposite?
alot of people lost jobs that were in good positions, with good companies.

so it is gonna get harder. People that are in other industries are gonna flood what is in demand (work and school).

Hell, even some schools are starting to cut how many people can go (California) because budget cuts are happening. Less students, less staff, more money for the government.
--------------
There are a bunch of part time jobs here and there, and I know a few people that hare doing that, working 3 part time jobs just to get by.

Its not the end of it either. NO doubt we have more to come. I mean Adobe laying off, yahoo laying off, Dupont laid off, the auto industry is gonna soon, just because people cant afford to buy a brand new car. WAMU laying off, Airports are laying off, My former jobs like Boeing announced layoffs, Mikron Industries (window/building sector) laid off 60% off its work force, not to mention another company Milgard windows shut down 1 plant in Washington and is announcing lay offs too.

How many people have been laid off last year, atleast 1 million, and jobs are not plentiful.

Cost of living is still up, gas in going up now, who else knows what.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

But personally, outside of seeing alot of my friends and industries I use to be a part hurting, I'm actually doing okay. If I didnt further myself and was given a chance to work in a hospital, I would have been in a world of hurt. I was working as a mechanic at the airports and that took a shit mid 08 and even now. United Airlines laid off tons of people as well as a few other airlines.

my homey still working there in South Seattle's plant. He came down here to cali during the strike and when he came back, he told me that they plan to announce cuts.

After 9/11, I seen tons of people from Boeing lose alot. But then again, alot of them were living outta their means. Some people had 2 houses, fancy cars, boats.. and when they laid off, people had to go to other industries to work...atleast til Boeing hired again.

WA manufacturing economy is pretty big wit Boeing. In the 90's, Boeing contracted out some work to hella companies and when Boeing laid off, alot of companies died out, just the fact that most of their work was 90% Boeing dependent. 1 Boeing job is like 3 other jobs around Tacoma/Seattle. Companies like Hexel had 5 buildings in 01, now are down to 1 in 09.

I know a few people with dual degrees and can not find a job in their field as well. Its gotta be a balance between work experience and education.

And truth is, competition for jobs is gonna be an all time high. Before people had different options, but now the job field is narrow.

You see how hard it is. Some are lucky that they can move back home. Imagine if you had a family to provide for and have a house you are trying to pay month to month.

How bout those people that have sick family members. I've seen it where I work. Stayin in a hospital is not cheap. Some people waiting for transplants or going thru these procedures saying there for months at a time...

And alot of people dont even have insurance.

you can sign up for the CARE package thru pge for low income families, or find a commercial building and pay for commercial power which is cheaper. and who says i have a grow.

Well, some people have either high maint shit (like gotta pay that fukn 7 series BMW) or paying for their bitches.

I've grinded and if I was desperate, I'd pick up any job. Sometimes jobs aint worth it, but in these times, take what you can get. Some shitty jobs demand alot of time, when you can do something more. but its 50/50.

There are jobs out there, but if you are on umployment and the only job you find pays you less than your unemployment, then I wouldnt take it. I'd spend a bit more time for a better job.

You'll find people that are in jobs that say "I gotta find something more, because I cant pay the bills". and alot of people have cut down their spending as far as going out and enjoying their lives.

Nobody wants a job that is barely getting by or not even getting you anywhere, except setting you back.

There are jobs out there, but its living off of them that is questioned. I aint dont mind working at in and out burger, but can it pay bills, rent, kids, house, health insurance, if you have health problems, can you pay for the medication/treatments, for gas prices, for maint on your car when it needs major repairs..
