Personally Ive been kinda skating through community college for a little while since i work full time at a pretty stressful commission based job. I checked out ASUs website and was happy to see im like a semester into a business communications degree. ASUs business school is kinda hard to get into though, I need 1120 on my sats and need pre calc to get in. I'm gonna start taking school more seriously in the fall and start going full time. I'll be pushing 40 by the time i graduate at the rate im going now.

Any tip to jump my math skills up to the pre calc level really fast? I dont want to have to take like 6 semesters of math classes to get to where i need to be. I'm hoping somehow to jump my math skills up so i can test into the class I need and save myself tons of money and time.

All you really need for pre-calc is a knowledge of multiplication/division/addition/subtraction, basic algebra, and trigonometry. Not too bad.

yeah... just practice lot's of math problems if you can

try to get your hands on a pre calculus book if you can... calculus isn't too bad... you just need to practice it

I took pre calc in high school... I actually don't remember the class too well to be honest... at the time it was kinda hard, but I passed with a C

in college I had to revist Calculus for a Math class I took, and again for an Econ class... I understand the calculus concepts pretty well this time around, and it came easy to me

a basic concept you need to uderstand is derivatives... which really aren't that bad unless you're dealing with large complex equations... even then it's not bad if you understand the process to solving them

or if you can get a job in any hospital doing anything im talkin janitor, cafeteria, data entry, ect hold to that job for dear life

you know the business. even if you are trying get another job, grabbing one of those until the opening you are looking for is available is another option. medical field, specifically RN is very stable and in demand. it pays very well too.

i am working on my BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I have been going to school part time since 2003 and I hope to finish by the end of this year. I worked at the Oakland Tribune and GamePro Magazine in their advertising departments. I have 4 years of advertising experience and I have been laid off since March. Advertising and Marketing are really fun and have some very nice perks but it can also be stressful.

It is really tough right now to find a job. Luckily EDD has been holding me down since I dont have a lot of bills and only have a few classes left. So Ive been concentrating on finishing my classes and lookin for work when I can. Media jobs have pretty much gone to shit unless you are higher up (VP or higher) or want to sell advertising. I hate selling anything so I refuse to look for a sales job.

If you are interested in HR, I know it pays really well. I know people who make $30+ per hour doing HR.

I have my degree in business admin. I work for one of the largest workers compensation insurance companies out there. Honestly man if your coming right out of college your GPA is very important as well as the degree. Competition is tough right now and all companies are going to want the best of the best for their money.
